Re: 710k for sale

It's amazing how after 10 years of this style of scam, that these pieces of sh** don't realize how often they give themselves away by simply poorly spacing their periods and the next sentence, as well as often capitalizing every word in an ad heading. The overly white-guy sounding names is a classic...

Documentary that I worked on playing in theaters...

"Terms and Conditions May Apply" is a documentary that I worked over the last couple years. I was mainly doing camera work on this one (not producing). If anyone near these cities is remotely interested in serious privacy concerns, check it out! New theaters are being booked often. Hopeful...

Another hiking death

This serves as a good reminder to plan well and know what you are getting into, esp. in the heat.

Off-roading and lunch near SanFran. Aug.

This is open to G's, Mogs and Pinzgauers. It's a Sat. afternoon trail run and lunch event. It's too far to justify the drive for me but if someone is closer, might be fun.

Re: Granada-Dakar Rally Entry: '87 Lamborghini LM002 for Sal

I remember reading about these in a 4x4 book that I got in my teens and thinking how cool it was (at that time!). One of the notable facts in the book were the custom, Z-rated all-terrain tires that only Pirelli makes for it, at a cost of several $1000 each. I think it got some horrific MPG rating a...

Nano water repellent spray

I'm still trying to think of how this might apply to camping/off-roading. Never seen anything quite like that. I wonder how durable it is? What if you did your tires (sidewalls) with it? Top? Behind panels and carpet, it looks like it might be a unique way to prevent rust as well. http://youtu.be/DZ...

Re: The Warn Pinzgauer

Oh yeah I may have that magazine edition still, somewhere. I have a few of the tapes from the 90's and up to the one I was in. My own footage and photos of the '02 race were stolen right after we finished at a hotel on the Mediterranean. I also have a few very rare euro-only Camel Trophy tapes that ...

Re: The Warn Pinzgauer

The Warn Pinz was part of the early/mid 90's 4x4 magazine articles and news that got me obsessed with racing in the Croatia Trophy, oddly enough, in a (more appropriately race modified) Austrian 712M, although it took till 2002 to make that a reality. Just imagine a time where news of such things ca...

Re: Soft Shackles - making some - anyone every use them?

I have one of those (Factor 55) pieces and it's built really well and tested like crazy. I feel weird with alum too but it's not typical. The main reason for it is the size of the opening. A typical winch cable thimble is no where near big enough for even a 3/4 pin.

Re: Soft Shackles - making some - anyone every use them?

Never had a (good) steel one break. They are so overbuilt that nothing a Pinz could do would ever break one, on top of whatever they are attached to failing well before the shackle would. Buy only US or Euro made ones. These are the best (Van Beest) and from the Netherlands. http://www.masterpull.co...

Does anyone here know about alternate fuel technologies?

This question has to do with a fictional writing assignment I'm working on. Let's say you had a farm-like environment (but no large animals; mostly smaller gardens, chickens, etc) that keeps about a dozen families fed and you needed to make some kind of fuel that could power an older gas (Pinz) moto...

The yellows are starting batteries as well. More than enough CCA's for any engine.

Yearly renewal!

The current version of the Portal Hub has been going strong since 2006, believe it or not!

The yearly renewal just came up and was done, as usual. I just wanted to announce that it's been 7 years!

And amazingly enough, 14 years total including the very old Pinz bulletin board.
