Re: Fat Fabrications
Don’t feel, too bad. For all us east of the Mississippi folks anybody that builds any good stuff is at least half a country away.

Re: Very dangerous winch mount
And THEE single most important issue here....it just doesn’t look all that nice.
But yeah, the potential for excess leverage on that pin mount is real.

I feel your pain. Not much happening over here in Ohio either as far as Pinz support goes.

Re: All the...Small things....
To add to audiocontr's comments. Y'd be messing with brakes at some point in time so I'd not worry too much about this. If the truck is clean, free of rust and runs good then it's a good truck. With respect to the brakes, from my own experience, don't onion peel the problem away. If the brake shoes...

Re: All the...Small things....
Search the forum for brake pad linings. Its not the worst thing to be up against, and to be honest, pretty common. Its a wearable part. Get used to adjusting by the way. I tend to adjust once a year come spring. The wheel cyl leaks are common as well. I've always repaired with a simple seal kit. Ea...

All the...Small things....
Not sure the direction my recent purchase will go but everything has to have a beginning. Brakes are shot. Fronts are worn damn near to the rivets and were packed with a grease created from dust, dirt, and brake fluid out of the leaky wheel cylinders. These were supposedly adjusted "just a few ...

Re: The electric conversion future
It’s coming but let’s not fool ourselves, electric cars are not “clean” Never mind the batteries, just because you plug it in does not mean your getting magic fair dust power. Coal baby and nuclear power! Once we get everyone needing even more power we’re going to have to go full nuke or start stri...

Re: WTB: Good used soft top, 712
Just an FYI for anyone paying attention. I spoke via email with Tuff-River today and according to them they have more orders than they can fill “for the foreseeable future”, which I am assuming is why all the info has disappeared from their website. If you haven’t already ordered, you’re probably sol.

Re: Running lights out
Most heavy equipment is run on 24v systems, so try a dealer such as John Deere, Caterpillar, etc. they generally have a good supply of 24 volt light Thx for that! I’ll have to check them out. One thing we’ve got around here is tractors...in spades. Got the front running lights sorted out. On the pa...

Re: Running lights out
not having information on location hampers advice. For light bulb selections try an emergency vehicle or large truck light store. We have a company around here called The Light House and they have a huge selection of 24v lights and bulbs. If you plan on keeping stock I believe SAV still has a light...

Re: Running lights out
The pink wire was orginally connected to terminal 58 (as I recall) on the light switch and was used for the blackout lights when those were installed. A common modification to the Pinz's was to disconnect the pink wire from terminal 58 and then splice an extension wire to reach over to the brake li...

Re: Running lights out
And just for giggles, here is a shot of the headlight switch on the dash. There is a pink wire in he pick that has a spade connector on it. I don’t think that connector is factory. It is coming from the #8 circuit breaker. You can see a connector on the switch just to the left of the spade. It’s the...

Re: Running lights out
Apparently you do not have the original headlight reflectors. Like Dave said, they did have a seperate bulb below the headlight bulb with a seperate wire providing power to it. If you need to have running/parking lights to be legal then you'll need to get some original reflectors. It's possible som...

Re: Running lights out
The front running(parking) lamps are a separate bulb within the headlamp assembly, and not in the turn signal lens Assembly. Sounds like the one bulb is burned out. It's a Euro thing. Really? I pulled the drivers side headlamp out and only saw a single socket that looked like it was for a bu...
