Re: Battery cut off switch
Case in point, at the moment I have a dedicated 24V fuse block that is tapped and fused off the batteries. It is independent of the electrical system of the vehicle so to speak. If the cutoff switch is in either the on or off position this fuse block is always hot. So am I correct in my interpretat...

Send me your phone number in a pm
It sounds like it is working correctly considering an additional leads to the batteries which can blow out electronics added.

Re: Battery cut off switch
Did you turn the ignition switch off before turning the main disconnect off ? If not, the solenoid is there to protect the alternator. If you did turn the ignition off, it could be a bad ignition switch. Also, has any wiring been added where it went back to the batteries directly? This could defeat ...

They cannot be exchanged either way..
The input shaft on the t cases are on opposite sides of the central tubes for gas and the TDs.

Re: Oil in coolant
Oil cooler failure would have been my first guess. . Next would bee the head/head gasket
Just for reference, which hose burst and does your truck have the coolant afterrun pump ?
Is there coolant in the sump?

Re: 718 5 cyl LHD for sale...but not cheap
This is the last of the ATL LHD 718K with the Euro3 2.5TDI to to be sold off from the original purchaser. This was ordered by the Austrian electcial board. The one before this was ordered by a electronic corporation in southern UK/Wales as a demonstrator of some of their products, The third LHD 718K...

Re: 718 ambulance
In this thread is the only electrical diagram for the 2.5TDI Pinzes (aka Euro 3) I have ever been able to get. http://real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerBBS/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=12254 It's for a standard 718 without many details. Unfortunately, my exposure to the TDI is my LHD 718K made as a North Ameri...

Re: M to K
Pinz710, What you want isn't a big problem. I use nomenclature standardized with the TD models. For non-standard configuration of "standard parts, the first letter would be the platform on which it was built, M for a 3 door platform , or K for a 5 door platform, the next for the top, M for soft...

Re: Won't run when hot
Look at the coil. That's the same symptom as a coil going bad. A coil breaking down will get extremely hot and spark gets weak. It will continue to run, but if stopped , it won't restart for a 1/2 hour or more until it cools down. This can also be caused by overvoltage from a failing ballast resisto...

I just saw this. You need to repost in the 716-718 section and give the details about your truck to what version it is. Manuel's for the turbo disease are spotty

Re: 710/712 Transfer case into 718
Unlike the gas Pinzes, the 716 and 718 share the same transfer case and gearing. There was an optional lower transfer case for the 718s, but supposedly never ordered in any truck.

M's are bolted to the tube (where the rub rail is mounted) around the perimeter. K's are welded there, but bolted at the waistline

They would be ceremonial Pinzes and howitzers as both have chrome accents, plus they're painted in gloss Bronze-Green instead a NATO green or Ral 6031

FYI. All the boxes are the same from 710 through 718 and the only difference between the battery and tool box is the addition of the battery tray.

Re: Slow cold starter
Glad you found the problem. Be ready to go though this again in a few years. Even with 1 battery checking out good, the batteries' imbalance will work to shorten their lives.
