Re: How far do people routinely drive their Pinzgauers?

Mine is a daily driver usually 4-5 days a week, plus I've taken several 200+ mile trips. No issues -- except it is thirsty at the pump.

Re: Air ducts

Interesting thing about any of this ducting, wether from SAV or Spruce is that it is not insulated. Wrapping the ducting from the heat exchanger to the valve and from the valve to where it goes through the engine area to the cab will improve your heat in the cab by at least 50%. Also has the abilit...

Re: E-trac mounting height?.

^ My e-track is in about the same location as shown above. No issues. One quick tip --- When not in use, I try to keep the belts indoors or in a watertight bag in the cab. Its kind of a pain, but I would prefer to avoid any possible UV or water degradation on the belts when not in use. Since I haul ...

Re: WTB: 710M ragtop

The timeline of messages in my PM is different. MrGlenn was the first one to contact me.

I am sorry you were offended by the process or feel I (or the buyer) somehow cheated you. That was certainly not my intent.

Re: WTB: 710M ragtop

Its raining here today and too wet to lay the cover on the driveway and take a picture. As soon as it dries out, I'll snap some pics.

Re: WTB: 710M ragtop

I have an OEM one (back portion) for a 710M that I would be happy to sell it reasonably (perhaps $400) but it does need new windows.

I think the production date was in the mid 90's, and it was on my truck when I bought it from SAV.

Re: Ignition Conversion - Final Mile (Help needed)

Quick update: Fired up a timing light this morning and found things were actually pretty decent. I needed some very minor rotation of the distributor to put everything nice and smooth. The start up and idle is considerably smoother. Once the advance kicks in, the engine seems to have smoother revs, ...

Re: Ignition Conversion - Final Mile (Help needed)

Whoo hoo! All fired up and running. Idle seems ok, but searching -- so I'm sure the next step is to pull out a timing light. :) FWIW, there are three things I'd amend to the standard "how to" : 1) If using a new coil, instead of the military one, pull both the red and black wires all the w...
