Re: Looking for stock steel wheels
I've got 8-10 of them but unfortunately I'm in Wisconsin and shipping is darn expensive. If you're near Texas I'd check with Andre at Fat Fabrications. Greyhound is fairly inexpensive to ship but not super convenient. Drop off at bus station and must be picked up at receiving bus station once arriv...

Going to remind you all once again. The spanner wrench for the fan works perfectly as a removal tool for the rear lens covers on the original lights.

Re: Batteries not charging
first thing is to check wiring at connector under engine tins. That molex connector is 90% of electrical problems. we have seen where the wire just had one or two strands left and would only cause issues after the heat up resistance became so great it caused problems all the way to completely broken...

Re: Clutch failure on trail. Need help.
such a funny thread. I can not tell you how many fj40 guys have had the clutches explode when going down hill. We used to teach them to place the transmission in desired gear at top of hill and place their foot under clutch pedal. Too many times they would start down and then push the clutch pedal i...

Re: engine thinks about starting, but not quite.
Check your breakers. If the one for the solenoids is tripped it will cause those issues. Also the rotor or internal of distributor cap can get corrosion and cause issues. Just because it has petronix or was running does not mean build up on the inside of the cap won't develop I

stupid question but since it is California and you said parked in street is it possible it was towed as a move running vehicle. Some of them California types don't like the pinzgauer and could have called the cops to get it removed

Re: 1st ever G wagon treffen in US
currently running 264/75R16 on my 230GE The measure out at 30" tall mounted. This is far too tall for the little 4 cylinder. I will be dropping to a tire 235 class once these get a little more wear on them. With an RTT mounted I have to push it pretty hard to maintain highway speeds on any grad...

Re: Oil pressure drop, 712 Pinz
would also be a good time to change the oil filter itself. Have had oil pressure issues in other older vehicles when the insides of the filter became loose. As Jim has mentioned the oil pick up tubes can be a common issue when dealing with oil pick up and they are not that difficult to check.

newtopinz Kelvin
If I recall the K does not have the same "lip" that the front doors have. The lip is required to hook the step on. My wife is still rockin her steps when she goes with me in the pinz.

Re: split axle boots
take a good look at the axle housing. One side is straight and the other has an offset. keep the bolts on the straight side. I don't bother remembering which is which just look at the housing. the offset is due to the interior of the differential. the swing axle design has the axles setup so as not ...

Re: Canvas top repair
I picture framed the opening when replacing the windows that I glued in. that is to say cut the corners at a 45 degree so the flaps can be held out of the way so the window can be laid into place then the flaps placed back over the window. You will be surprised how dirty the window pockets are. I ha...

HH-66 glue found a lot of places on line the folks who have not had good results more then likely did not do one of two things. the surface needs to be cleaned very well with a vinyl cleaner and elbow grease. the glue needs to be applied to both surfaces and let cure for a bit then a small reapplica...
