You are right Berger..you paid a premium price from a dealer specializing in pinzgauers and this should be made right..after all...its not like you are buying a toyota from the local dealership and can get parts and service from any other dealer...What you bought is a specialized vehicle...and basic...

Jon check for either a vacuum leak and also make sure the carb base has not loosened up. This is a common problem and would cause your backfiring. To check remove the air cleaner assembly and grab the carb body, pull and twist on the carb any movement indicates a screw that has vibrated loose. If fo...

From the looks of the cabin it would be hard to imagine my 6ft2 frame fitting in that!, also in one of the undercarriage pics I see some sort of a air intake filter in line with the front differential? is that to cool the engine when it sits in a mud puddle? Vince the hole saw you posted from ebay will take a standard 1/4 inch drill bit and goes right into the arbor as is.

My vacations last for a week two at most..what you are proposing is like a month long..those kind of excursions will have to wait till I am unemcumbered by the need to work...but I wish I could go..sounds awesome..I will talk to you when we see one another. Dwayne and I need a day to unwind.
