Re: Pinzgauer ax rubber latch
That's how I'd do it too, strip of rubber maybe even neoprene would do. Lace it around the two attachment pieces and overlap the rubber. Use a "welding" type adhesive such as RapidFix, bonds at the molecular level and will maintain "strechyness" at the bond. Don't get any of thi...

Re: TOP 10 best Pinzgauer modifications for improving perfor
Thanks! I am in Issaquah, WA. I do have an aftermarket ignition so interesting they chose a downstep like this. Most aftermarket ignitions are 12v, using a 24v to 12v converter is the preferred way to provide 12v for 12v add on's such as ignition, fuel injection, radios, etc. The converters are muc...

Re: TOP 10 best Pinzgauer modifications for improving perfor
I am not sure where this belongs but I thought a mod about performance would be the best place to start. My 710M came with an ignition mod that i have no clue and would love to know what it is. Please see the pic. Looks like a 24v to 12v converter to me, I'm guessing you will find it to have one wi...

Re: Low idle, almost stalling
If (big if) the idle is good once the motor has warmed up and you just want to facilitate a high idle to warm the motor up you can use the hand throttle. pull it out to the desired rpm than twist it to lock it, just remember to release it. And no the hand throttle should not be used as a cruse contr...

Re: Cannot change into gears, only with engine off ???
Sounds like its time to pull the clutch out and clean things up. IIRC in the past Jim has recommended replacing the clutch disk, may want to replace the throw-out bearing and pilot bushing if you decide to order parts. not a hard or time consuming job on a Pinz and just basic tools needed. http://re...

Re: Cannot change into gears, only with engine off ???
When you are running in 4th gear have you stabbed the brake peddle with the clutch peddle pressed in?
Are you certain you have fluid in the clutch reservoir and that the clutch slave is being activated?

Re: New Member trying to get 3 712's running better
Thanks for all the help. You're going to be pissed when you learn what the culprit was. It was a fuse. The cutoff solenoids weren't opening. I had pulled the wires from them a while ago and noticed no difference, but wasn't sure what they did. Now I know, and one of the Managers, Steve, who was dri...

Re: Ponz timing help needed
Do you have points or Pertronix ?
BTW this is covered in the operators manual (around page 150 iirc) if your truck is stock and on Scotts site if Pertronix has been installed.

Re: Hello From Camas, WA
Per the operators manual page 11 the 712K is “All metal body station wagon, 5 doors”
I know it's no longer "manly" to drive a station wagon so call it an SUV if you must.
Welcome aboard
