Re: Acceptable Wheel Flange and Gear Damage
Thanks for the info. There doesn't appear to be any damage on the interior teeth of the gear, just the chip on the lip.

Acceptable Wheel Flange and Gear Damage
After a great deal of hassle I finally removed the wheel flange and gear from the rear drive. Unfortunately during the process I chipped the gear. After cleaning up the wheel flange it appears the reason it was so hard to remove was some damage on the splines of the shaft. The service manual says to...

Re: Wheel Drive Disassembly Tools
Through a combination of heat, repeated trips to the press, PB Blaster, and a great big hammer (thanks Andre) I finally got the hub apart. Except for the chipped gear everything seems to be in order. I have no idea why this thing was so difficult to disassemble, but it's in pieces now. Thanks all fo...

Re: Wheel Drive Disassembly Tools
Went down to the local auto parts store and got a gear puller that looked like it would do the job. Hooked it up to the gear and it was heldonto the gear rim. I started to screw down on the gear puller and before the gear started to move the gear broke. I either missed a critical piece of info in th...

Re: Wheel Drive Disassembly Tools
I got the drive unit off of the axle, and modified a gear puller to pull off the gear. This didn't work, so i tried to press off the wheel flange through the gear. This didn't work, either. Any advice on getting this thing apart?

Re: Wheel Drive Disassembly Tools
I figured since I have the thing off I'd strip it down completely to inspect for wear. I'll start to take it apart and see just how well I can disassemble the thing without the special tools. Stand by.

Re: Wheel Drive Disassembly Tools
i checked the EI web site and there was no mention of a tool loan program. I'll get with Scott just in case he's willing to take pity on me and loan some tools.

Wheel Drive Disassembly Tools
It's time to replace the inner seal on the drivers side rear wheel. I watched the tech video as well as read the service manual instructions and have most of the necessary tools, but not the specialized ones. Are these tools available as rentals from one of the Pinz suppliers? If not does a member h...

Drivers Side Glass
I need to replace the sliding glass on my PInz door top, and after seeing the price for OEM glass I'm going to try a local glass shop to see what they'd charge to cut the piece. Does anyone know where to find the measurements for this piece of glass? Also, I've seen few Pinz's for sale lately with s...

Re: Engine Tuning Problem
Thanks for all of the advice. I checked the carb bases and they were fine. I replaced the rotor and cap, which looked fine on first glance thought the rotor needed a little cleaning up. New parts did the trick.

Engine Tuning Problem
I just finished my annual engine inspection and tune-up, but the Pinz isn't running as well as it has. I inspected and gapped the plugs, replaced the fuel filter, checked the cap and rotor, adjusted the valves, adjusted the timing 10 degrees at 900 rpm (Petronix), inspected the brass idle screws, an...

Re: 710M Center of Gravity And Trailering
I got out the bathroom scale and set up a 4:1 fulcrum, and just couldn't get the Pinz far enough back for comfort. I ended up backing onto the trailer. Do you think the turbulence from the tow vehicle will keep the soft top from getting tor to shreds?

Re: 710M Center of Gravity And Trailering
The trailer is 18' long, so I can put the motor over the axles without reversing onto the trailer.
