Re: Wiper motor cleanup
Interesting Shawn - Do you know if the pivot piece that goes through the windshield frame is also available from the VW world? (the portion the wiper arm connects to) They are incredibly expensive here ($150) Just the motors are the same, none of the linkage pieces look that familiar. Don does have...

Re: Wiper motor cleanup
Took mine completly apart and cleaned out all the crusty grease. Then reassembled it with fresh high temp Moly grease. Unit runs perfect now. These are the same motors that are used in vintage VW's and Porsche's so if you need parts for them they are cheaper to go through a VW supply company. The li...

Re: Side Rail Replacement
I have a set of rubber ones in near new condition for sale if interested. If they were 712 size I would not be selling them.

Re: New to Pinzgauer, learning and shopping ~
I turned my 710K into a 9 seater. Side doors, hard top. Also removed the cage seperating the front and the back so I could reach back and bonk my kid on the head when acting up.

Re: New to Pinzgauer, learning and shopping ~
Walkthrough and cabover pinz is not possable. Side door pinz's are very hard to find in the 6x6 configuration. 4x4 models are much easer to find. If diesel is what you want consider contacting Scott at Expedition Imports, as he has a few right now. Note that the later diesel models are nearly imposs...

Re: Damn rust! Preventive maintenance fail!
Rubber plugs from the harware store seem to work fine on mine. I would try and get a soda blaster tip in there (even cut an access hole if needed) and blast all the rust scale out. Then use water and wash all the soda way. Once dry I would flood the area POR-15 to encapsulate the metal. This is what...

Re: Bad day to be a windshield...
Noah It was good meeting you, just let me know if this one will work for you. I will be around. As far as the windshield goes, turns out they did not tint the top of it after all, only the 5%. not sure what happened there but from the sounds of it probably better off anyhow. Had a friend help me at ...

Re: Bad day to be a windshield...
It is cut to fit off the original. 5% total tint and a darker top gradent tint at the top in the blue green color. Hear in Washington, while it would be nice to have the entire thing tinted more then 5% it is not quite as important. I get off work at 5:00 tonight, just hope it does not rain between ...

Re: Bad day to be a windshield...
Dropped the broken glass off this morning, $160 for the replacement. My seal is still extreemly supple so I will use it again. Should have it back in action by 6:00 PM tonight. I assume just soapy water and nylon coard will get it back in the frame.
