Anthony To keep the redundancy down, and have a linear thread, I'll reply here and not on the yahoo group. I don't know anything about the "former engine" at all ( not that it means much  ), but if it is a readily available and supported engine in Europe, it might be ok. But I would ...

Buy the gear lube in gallon bottles. They sell pumps that fit where the cap is and have clear plastic tubes for reaching the fillers.

Anthony The Sprinters on this side of the pond use a 2.7TD producing 154hp at 3800rpm. Again, its also what is being done to get the on road speed up with the rest of the drivetrain. I don't know the max rpms on that engine, and from the single pic... I wonder about the cooling and oiling with the e...

Insurance in the US is underwritten state by state. I was the first to get AAA to insures Pinzes ( 710,712,716, Haf) in California ( and AFAIK the only state that AAA does insure them). The key was to be able to compare it to something that is known to the underwriters and is comparable. Also, some ...

You could also have a carbon buildup on the heads and pistons. We use to pour water down the carb a running engine at operating temps, the water would cystallize the carbon and blow it out the exhaust.
Also retard the timing a bit.

I do not know the diameter of the Volvo 8 bolt pattern, but US 3/4 and 1 ton trucks use a 8 on 6.5" pattern , so if one truck fits, they all fit..... only exception is some of the factory rims that have a slightly smaller center hub hole.

Mogs and LR 101 use the same 6 bolt lug pattern.
