Re: 710K front ant. brackets

The 710k antenna brackets were intended to hold the remote antenna assemblies not tubes. If one wants tubes to fit these mounting brackets they are easy to make from PVC plumbing parts from your local hardware store (Home Depot / Lowes) and a rattle can of OD paint. :)

Like you I've had good luck using Evapo Rust. Another thing that is great for removing rust is apple cider vinegar, takes a little longer however sometimes easier to source.

Very possible that the speedo was originally for kph and has had the face replaced to to indicate mph however the odometer will still read in kilometers. Kinda confusing to reed that. :?

Re: Converting Low Speed Transmission To Taller Gearing?

re: Sloppy shifting, first thing is to replace the banjo bushings. Replacing these bushings may remove a surprising amount of slop and prevent being stranded if one fails. Since you'd be placing an order get new throttle linkage end pieces, they are typically plastic and prone to failure if they hav...

Re: Converting Low Speed Transmission To Taller Gearing?

Yes, all fluids were changed before I did any driving, as well as the tires and axle boots (dry rotted). No sign of water contamination, or excess heat on the drivetrain or wheels after a 20mi drive. Rolls easily in neutral, so I don't think the brakes are stuck. 4th and 5th are louder than the oth...
