So far the polyurethane boots I got have been holding up without issues.

Re: Sockets on the front of TGB's?
Thanks for the reply. I realize I can attach any 24v accessory to these. I was just hoping to find a source for the original lights since I have never seen these for sale.

Re: Sockets on the front of TGB's?
Is there a source for any of these accessory lights or other 24v accessories that plug into these sockets?
Thanks,
Greg

Re: Volvo Bodies
It is refreshing to know that many of you are much smarter than I am when it comes to things such as alu-zinc coatings. Thanks for the corrections! Now, if we were talking about human anatomy or physiology, I might come off sounding a little smarter (I hope).

Re: Volvo Bodies
I would assume that Alu-zinc (being non-ferrous) wouldn't hold a magnet. Thus a simple magnet test should suffice to differentiate them.

The shovel might be East German (DDR) origin since that looks like one of their camo patterns.

I got mine here:
http://www.drivetrainamerica.com/p-1558 ... p-4x4.aspx
That was the best price I could find. They seem to have good prices on other things too

Re: Volvo work day
As Andre stated, he is the fabricator that made it. He is well-known in the Pinzgauer/Unimog community for a variety of enhancements. I saw many examples of his work and then he and I discussed what I wanted before he got started. We made a few alterations along the way and ended up with the final p...

Re: Volvo work day
Marcus,
The model number is Truck Lite 27270C. I spent some time looking around for the best price and was able to get them for 209.99 each with free shipping from Drivetrain America. Max has two videos linked in one of his posts that document the installation of these.

Re: What have I bought ? Building a Haflinger ex Royal Navy
Very nice work. When I had to have my front window frame redone due to extensive rust damage, I decided to change the measurements a bit so that the new replacement was taller and thus beter accomodated my height. I prefer to look out from as close to the center of the window as possible as this giv...

Re: Doing some battery area work.....
I really like how it all fits into that small area. Jim and Andre did a great job. I should point out that the truck has two completely separate systems. The two Optima batteries comprise the 24v system and the Odyssey battery is hooked into a solar charge controller with a solar panel on the roof. ...

Re: Haflinger Handout
Dan, I currently have no plans to sell my Volvo. If that changes, I'll be sure to let you know. I must say I'm impressed with it. After having the stock engine upgraded to fuel injection, it purrs like a kitten and has really impressive performance. In my opinion, and I know that there will be many ...
