Yes emulsion is a good word for it. The breather is totally blocked and i'd swear that when i unbolted the brake line bracket it spurted like it was pressurised inside. Does that bolt go all the way through?
Am I OK to spray some degreaser in there to clean it up?
will do the oil change too

Thanks for the replies. Got it off now. Hydraulic ball joint separator. This steering setup is costing me a fortune in tools.

Removing steering ball joints
Hi all Does anyone have any experience in removing the ball joints from the aux steering arm? I've got a bearing separator wrapped round it and a 10 ton puller trying to pull them apart with no success. The nut is off and the puller has been left in place with plus gas soaking overnight to see if it...

Re: My build
Thanks Ian. Playing about with the box has proved its more important to have the box placed with regard to the steering column. Also need to be able to undo the shaft case. There was a risk I could have welded up the bracket too close to the bolts that hold it to the box. So seat position is fixed a...

Re: My build
Hi
I should have taken a photo of the drop arm before I removed it for the g wagon power steering. Would someone be willing to post a photo of theirs. I want to see how far the steering box comes through and where the clamp closes.
Ever grateful

Re: My build
The handbrake has been a right pain. Not so much the brake but the lever. I just don't have any place for it. I decided the cross member had to go, and it's gone. Angle grinder away. The transfer box was up so tight that if I ever wanted to get it off I'd have to drop the whole engine drive train. I...

Re: My build
The 40mm saving is at the transfer end not the bell housing.
The cab mods are far too severe. I could have dropped it way lower. As it is I'll put some sort of sunken tray in to use the dead space. I wanted the area removable for access to the engine. The old access was hopeless.
