Small gap, big difference

So I spent a rainy Saturday working on the Pinz- wishing I was at the sunny, warm San Diego tech day. I noticed in Juergen's valve adjust instructions that I should adjust the spark plug gap to .76mm instead of stock gap when using Pertronix and civilian plugs. Long story short, the truck now runs n...

Hey, got mine hooked up too- you were right, there were more connectors, but using the codes from SDP worked perfectly

I haven't done mine yet, but am pretty sure my original unit has 3 prongs. Here are the sdp-pinzgauer.org directions with some codes that might help with your 5 prong unit.-

Wow, keep it up

Wow, I know this is a huge effort for a small group of owners compared to the VW crowd (which I came from). I for one am extremely interested in any work you do on the headers and exhaust systems. This is one of my near future upgrades and an area I think is not developed enough. I'm sure eventually...

My flasher is doing the same thing and just this morning I ordered the Buss 24v 3 prong electronic flasher replacement unit. It took the Napa store a while to look up the part number, so in case someone needs it- Buss BE234 = Napa EG23. I haven't received it yet, so I hope its correct. Oh $17.99 and...

Interesting vehicles on that website

There are actually a lot of interesting vehicles on that site. In comparing a same year 74 710m to mine, there are some subtle differences between the austrian and the swiss ones. The plastic front windows, split windshield, wipers, etc. It says it was completely rebuilt at the factory to new Austri...

Thanks for the help

It sounds like both the gear growl and the quasi-turbo whine are actually pretty normal. That's good, then I can concentrate on the carbs, exhaust, and brakes this fall. Thanks again

I like mine too

The only comparison I have is the stock worn Maloyas, but so far I like the traction, road manners, and of course price.

2 different noises

I bought my 710M in March and have had a blast with it all over the hills near McCall Idaho. I'm used to older vehicles and aircooled VWs, so I listen and try to understand the various noises coming from Pinz to make sure which are typical and which could indicate trouble. There are the usual tire, ...

Maxxis tires for me too!

I'm a Pinz newbie and this my first post here, but I also just put on a set of the same Maxxis Bighorns 255/85 r 16. They're going for about half of what the local shop wanted for Toyos or BFG MTs, so I had to try them out. I can only compare them to the original Maloyas, but there really is no comp...
