Camper

Miles, I found 4 hydraulic camper jacks and some other parts from a rotted out pickup camper listed in a "Buy n Sell" magazine, $60.00 !! Looking on the sides of the camper box you can see reinforcement plates near the rear and towards the front. They are riveted on top of the skin ...

Toms Camper

I just uploaded a few more pictures of my camper project to the Yahoo Pinzgauer Group. Photos are in the "Photos" section and in the "Toms Camper" album. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pinzgauer/photos/album/680445136/pic/list I still need to finish the interior paneling (fibergla...

Seats

Several years ago my wife and I walked down the rows at a PicknPull auto wrecking yard. We were looking for seats that were 19" wide or less (you need that to fit the passenger side). We found Kia seats, don't remember the model or year but it was a small sedan. I was able to keep the slider an...

2.5 tp 2.7

Hi I've had the 2.7 for about 2 years now and am very pleased. I was looking more at the increased compression than total cubic inches. 200 cc. is a small increase in size whereas a full point in compression is more of a factor in performance. I also had the 712 transfer case swapped out for a 710 x...

Backup Light

I wired my backup light AFTER the battery switch. Just remember to turn the battery off when you leave the vehicle.

It does make a GREAT work light! :D

M151 Heater

Miles, I'm back on four 12 hour work days, I'll try squeeze in some time to get some pics of what I have done, else it will be after Wednesday. I bought a cast box at an electronics supplier and have fit the switch, circuit breaker and warning lamp into it. I have schematics of the wiring and can ma...

M-151 Perfection/Benmar Multifuel heater

I've read the instructions, fabbed the control box and read all the postings I could find, I'm now ready to drill some holes and mount my heater. Does anybody with one installed, have any last minute advice?? Any changes that you wish you made? :? These were the new ones sold on e-bay several years ...

Whine

Questions; Does this whine continue at all speeds under power? Does the whine seem to change loudness when you let up on the gas pedal? Is it MUCH louder at high speeds? You said that it goes away when you press the clutch pedal in, do you also reduce engine speed when you do that? Are you sure that...

Whine?

I think that most likely you are hearing the wheel drive gearbox (portal axle). They can whine in any gear or free-wheeling. I am using Swepco oil 80-140 in mine and it seems to quiet them a little.

Air filter?

Pinztrek, Good point, looking at some high performance engines (including 4 cylinder) the intake runner diameter is based on the valve size. 1" valve=0.785 sq.in. x 4 = 3.14sq.in. total area, or to look at it another way a 2" tube gives you the same area! Jake found on his EFI syst...

Diesel fuel usage

It looks to me that; 520km=323.1 US miles 43litres=11.36 US gal. so... 323.1 ÷ 11.36 = 28.44 miles per gallon (US) WOW  that would be nice, granted that your mileage would go down as you pick-up speed, what a starting point at 50 mph! Thanks for the info P.S. I found a great program on the ne...

712?-710?

I have a 712m, I was looking for something that could be a camper, a "pickup" truck, and off-road vehicle. The length shouldn't be too much trouble...16 feet, 3 inches. about the same as my old VW bus! My wife has an Audi Q7 which is longer than my Pinz 712, many friends have picku...
