Re: Tire similiar in size to original Maloyas?

It's a year and a half later since I started this thread and I want to thank everyone for the feedback and photos. One of my biggest considerations in replacing my tires is squeezing into a residential garage. Currently, I have the BFG M/T 285/75/16 which are 33.1" in diameter. I've saved up so...

Re: Tapatalk?

OK, I'll pipe up. I use TapaTalk and love it. Wish all the boards I enjoy used it. It's a very convenient way to access bulletin boards from your iPhone.

Re: Side Rail Replacement

Where can the metal channel be sourced? Does anyone sell pre-cut sets for the 710 or is it sold in lengths that have to be cut down?

Thanks.

Re: Where, and how many, Pinzgauers exist!

I asked this once before--but had no replies. I have to imagine that EI, Cold War, and SAV accounted for a substantial number of the 710/712 Pinzies imported into the US from Switzerland--which account for the vast majority of Pinzies in the US. I'm sure there were other importers, too. Would anyone...

Tire similiar in size to original Maloyas?

Would a BFG Mud Terrain KM2 LT235/85R16 be equivalent in size to the original Maloya tires used by the Swiss Army? I understand the overall diameter of the LT235/85R16's is 32 inches. Would these be good tires for mild to moderate off-roading with some local highway time between home and dirt? Thanks.

Re: Croatia Pinzgauer

Welcome!

I have also had the pleasure of visiting Croatia. In 1997 I spent several days in Split and Dubrovnik--and especially fell in love with Dubrovnik. And, what a great place to own a Pinzgauer!

Re: Insurance

I tried Progressive online and they cancelled me after 10 days when the underwriters decided I had a tank in the garage. I then approached a State Farm agent for a liability only policy for a 35 year old Classic Vehicle. They're charging me $68/month--which is high in my estimation. Of course, I wor...

Thanks, I picked up a Progressive liability-only policy online for a very reasonable price.

I received a letter from GEICO today informing me they were cancelling my 1-year old policy because the underwriters determined I had a military tank. LMAO--I wish. Called to politely discuss with no sucess. Sounds like my options are a liability only policy with Progressive or State Farm. Anyone ha...

First, thank you everyone for your replies to my original post. I wish I were nearly as electrically savvy as many of you clearly are. While I THINK I understand what needs to be done to use one of Viair's portable 12v compressors with our trucks, I'm now sufficiently hesitant to simply get a 24v sy...

Thank you Jim. One more question, would you recommend I have the vehicle running before attaching the compressor's cables to the battery with the grounding strap--or should the vehicle be off when using the compressor? As I understand your warning, I should not attempt to start the vehicle when the ...

Using 12v Viair Compressor with 24v Pinz

I've been shopping for one of the Viair portable compressors. While they make 24v systems for on-board air (OBA), all of their portable systems are 12v. I know very little about electrical systems. As I understand it, however, the 24v Pinzgauer uses two 12v batteries in series (that is, two 12v batt...

I noticed CWR's website has been down for a couple of weeks. Anyone know what's up?

Would there be any interest among the Las Vegas area owners online to meet up with trucks some weekend for an informal get acquainted lunch? I'm in and out of town a lot but was thinking about Saturday, November 13th or Sunday the 14th. I'm sure we can find a spot to meet up for a couple hours to me...

Maybe it's time to get a Las Vegas Pinz event put together.

By the way, where'd you get your K painted?
