Re: East coast Jeep Cab over FS

I love those things but the places where they are street legal (in the US) can probably be counted on one hand...if that!

Looking for a transporter (Houston to San Diego). Ideas?

Folks, I know the subject comes up every so often here but is there a preferred vehicle transportation company or broker to haul my (his!) 712 from Houston to the west coast? I doubt there's any reason to go with an enclosed transporter so a flat bed / fifth wheel or open hauler should work out fine...

Re: You guys know how much I love you...right?

Thanks for the encouragement and the reminder of my philosophy and approach towards things Mike. As I shared with the fellow who has purchased it, i described it in a way that I would have wanted to see had I been the buyer. To your point, if anyone had asked for photos of any specific areas or prob...

California vehicle registration requirements

My 712 buyer in California was asking me about what's involved in registering a 1974 vintage vehicle in the state of California. Specifically, he's wondering about the items are that are or are not required to register a vehicle during a safety inspection. In Texas, the only items that a safety insp...

Re: You guys know how much I love you...right?

For those who didn't catch this little drama, there was this guy "optimator" who went ape with his comment when I mentioned the crack in one of the front boots and a very modest leak from the differential. He went off on me in a way that made me look like a complete know nothing amateur. I...

Re: You guys know how much I love you...right?

Honestly guys, I'm not sure how to take or understand all of the criticism. Here on the forum, I described a problem I was having, folks weighed in, I got some excellent advice from Andre Swanson who described an interim fix (AKA using heavier weight gear oil) and that addressed the problem until a ...

Re: You guys know how much I love you...right?

Thanks!

If this guy flakes (it happens, right?) I'll just relist it as it got to the pricing and interest level I was aiming for.

Re: You guys know how much I love you...right?

So it's not a big deal....with the right tools and perhaps someone closeby who has done it before to assist?

Re: You guys know how much I love you...right?

Sorry to hear about the medical issues. That can't be much fun for any of y'all. The front differential leak (more like a very modest seep) is something that I described to Andre Swanson so he might weigh in. It doesn't sound like a big deal to address and the seals are very cheap to purchase but, w...

Re: You guys know how much I love you...right?

The slammer being an interested buyer seems like bad form to me. An interesting technique that I wouldn't consider using myself...but that's just me.

There's been a lot of interest so we'll see where this goes. Thanks for the comments and observations guys.

Re: You guys know how much I love you...right?

BAT has been an eye opener. I love the site and really enjoy the daily morning emails from them but I've gotten more flakey and negative comments than i could have imagined. Lot's of negative comments that seemingly are coming from folks who do not own Pinzgauers so the comments come off as uninform...
