Re: This poor guy needs some help - located in India

Might be a nice donor to try an electric conversion on.... Only needs a new steering box etc. Nice flat bed to put some solar panels, half ton payload for the batteries.

Re: Clutch issues today!

Lets hope that is the culprit - check the alignment between the two tubes as it fraying there suggests it has been rubbing on one or other of the edges of the tubes. Put the end of the new cable in the tube by a couple of inches, then start smearing the cable with grease, that way the end which come...

Re: Haflinger Fuel Consumption - Larger Bore Engines

Fuel economy is dependent on some many things, there are only a few that you actually have any control over. Air density - no control Air temp - no control Actual fuel octane rating - some control Road conditions - some control Air / fuel mixture - some control Ignition (Timing and Spark size) - som...

Re: Joys of removing bed liner

I did say you would get a "custom" paint job, I never said what it would look like! At least you would never lose that 3 wheel thing with that paint job... :D Actually, I have a heinkel 150 which was painted red and then had glitter thrown all over it! (It call "Mr. Angry" for so...

Re: Gen output and aux lights

Most Haflingers are "well past" their sell buy date and so probably do not produce any where near what the official documentation says. So losing even 1/2 a horse could show up and make a difference when the engine is struggling. I do agree that under most normal situations it probably wou...

Re: Joys of removing bed liner

Let the kids paint it as they have done most of the hard work cleaning it! You would get a custom paint job then for no extra cost!

Re: Gen output and aux lights

Been thinking about this for my Haflinger BUT, the energy you are taking to put into the battery / light system has to come from somewhere! That "somewhere" is the poor engine.... So you would lose a few (more) of your precious horses into turning the new alternator (not forgetting the hor...

Re: NEED ASISTANCE looking for a chassis number

Simple way out if you have to swap transmission or engine. (or bodywork) Get a new blank plate and stamp your current numbers on it. Then if you have to inform the powers that be of the changes. Any "old" vehicle is going to suffer this problem of having major bits replaced at some point. ...

Re: Goods

Are all your rebound straps "slack" on your Haflinger when sitting on its wheels? I know only two other Haflingers apart from mine. Both of those have the straps at full stretch when unloaded and mine are like your one in the picture "slightly curved" i.e. not under load. I know ...

Re: Rear Seat Cushion Drawing

In which case I will wait until you have managed to get the covers made for both front and back and then buy a set (minus the foam) to reduce the shipping costs. I will then source foam over here in the UK to put in them.

So please keep us informed on progress and lots of pictures!

Re: Rear Seat Cushion Drawing

Hi, How about making a set of plans for the front seats as well? :D That way, the likes of me who will have to replace ALL the seats will be able to. I am looking at using memory foam but will need to find out which grade will work best. What we really need is someone who has access to an Industrial...

Re: Truck bed shipping a NA Haflinger

Where is it being shipped from and to? (Just noticed your profile) There are always trailers or if in the UK, you could hire a Transit type flatbed recovery vehicle which you can drive yourself on a car license for about £100 + fuel for a day. Maybe there is something similar in the USA? John I can ...

Re: dynastarter not charging

The repair manual has a section on testing / adjusting the voltage regulator. Worst comes to the worst, you can buy new voltage regulator - even electronic ones. Not sure if the electronic ones are set up to run a dynastart but it shows there are ways and means.

5th DUTCH HAFLINGERMEETING

Hi, I found the following details on a Haflinger meeting:- It might be of interest to some. I was going to go, but unfortunately both vehicle and me will be unable to attend this year.
