Norcal: If I can get an old hour meter with the gear I need, it should be repairable. Web searches on the meter have not turned up anything.
Anyone have a doner hour meter, dead or alive?
Regards, Kevin

Swiss License Plates
I am trying to get some of the original Swiss License plates. I found this site: http://www.sdp-pinzgauer.org/pinz-archives/html/swiss_license_plates.html Found better pix of same on Yahoo forum site. It shows what they look like, but no dimensions if one wants to "recreate" some plates. D...

Was Odometer -- now hour meter
Got around to taking apart the hour meter, it has a stripped plastic gear off of the drive. The lens that magnified the seconds had come loose and jammed the mechanism. Anyone have an unused meter I can use for parts?

Hourmeter
I have a 710K ex radio truck. From my reading they installed the hour meter because they thought the truck would sit idling a lot while using the radios (and keep the batteries charged) for maintenance purposes. I am trying to keep my truck original and like the challenge of tinkering with stuff. I ...

Odometer
Hi, I followed Jim's instructions on the old thread listed above for disassembling the speedo. (Thanks Jim!) His description helped me & my issue was the same as todds112. I roughed up the end of the shaft & reinstalled it. Re-installing the trim ring on the speedo was almost a time consumin...

Erik: That was my first thought. But then the water will just sit in the trough under the guides. I am worried this will hurry the corrosion there. Krick: I saw those guide holders in my Austrian parts book. Were they taller than the non drain type? I will take one apart this weekend to see if I can...

Leaking lower window guides on Swiss 710K
Well, since I cannot yet store the truck inside, and I live in Oregon, I am busy chasing water leaks while performing a full maintenance service on the truck. We just had a short gully washer & I sat in the truck to watch for leaks. All four of my side door window guides are leaking. The parts m...

Thanks for all of the replies. Pinzgear: your solution is better than carrying the sacks of whatever. I assume the plate takes up less room than the salt bags did. My 710K made it safely to my house last week. I am not sure how to get it into my garage, but am down to 4 options: 1. Tires that will r...

Metal shavings in oil pan.....
Hi Jackson: I just received my 710K last weekend. I am doing a full service to get to know it & just drained the engine oil. I had a bit of small metal pieces about the same size as yours. The PO told me no issues with truck. It runs good. Have you had any trouble with your engine? I will try to...

Height of 710K to fit in standard height garage?
Krick: Thank you for answers. I spoke with the owner about the info received from you & Dread, He is going to load the truck up with an "expedition load" and remeasure the height. This 710K has about 23K miles. Nice looking truck BTW.

Height of 710K to fit in standard height garage?
Krick: Thanks for your reply. How many miles is on your Pinz? Are the springs original? If I take that molding off of the top of my door I can get another 3/4". Last December we had some record snowfall west of the Cascades in both OR. & WA. I don't think a temp shelter will stand up to tha...

Height of 710K to fit in standard height garage?
Thanks Dread! I just found the height of the tires on it now: 32.9"D. 245 series tires would lower it about one inch. I guess I could let air out of the tires and get a couple of inches more. Is your truck loaded down with equipment? Or are your springs "tired"? I cannot understand wh...

Height of 710K to fit in standard height garage?
I am looking at a 710K, the specs I found say they are 80.5"H. (none of the specs say if it is for an M or K model) The opening to my garage is 83"H. I live in Oregon, so the truck needs to be stored indoors. The truck I am interested in has Firestone LT305/70-16 Destination MT tires. The ...
