Re: New to the board, air suspension modified M710

So the difference between max height and lowest height is about 8 inches - Then it would seem that the difference from a normal driving setting to the lowest height would be about 4 inches of reduced height - correct? I suppose this would be helpful for those with standard garage door issues then......

Re: New 2015 Ford Transit Wheels (Full Sized Van)

Those wheels look a bit fragile for the kind of loads a Pinz could put on them. Steel = bent, Aluminum = broken. My favorite rims for the air cooled Pinzgauers is the Mach5 rims made in England - but they seems impossible to get anymore... http://www.adriansslotcarworld.co.uk/Images/RBcars/Pinzgaue...

Re: Rear wheels locked

There is no center diff on a pinzgauer - just the rear and front diffs - it sure sounds like your e-brake is locked up - or probably - rusted up. If you put the tranny and t-case in neutral then you should be able to spin the short cardan shaft by hand... disconnecting it won't help anything. Its no...

Re: Spark Plug sleeves?

That doesn't sound good - shouldn't be any kind of sleeves that come out with the plugs. Can you post a picture?

All of the thread inserts I know of are suppose to stay in the engine after being installed... When properly done they work well.

Re: New 2015 Ford Transit Wheels (Full Sized Van)

That's a great offer Dave - thanks - now only if you had an early pinzgauers to try them on.

Anybody with a 710 or 712 wanna drop by this guy in Dave's area and see how they fit? Sounds like the guy is open to someone trying it.

Re: New 2015 Ford Transit Wheels (Full Sized Van)

I contacted that seller earlier today and he has a total of four rims - they also are from a full size Transit and not the smaller Transit Connect as he incorrectly had stated (he might have fixed it by now). Like new condition - painted black . I offered him 1/2 of the dealer price for buying all f...

Re: New 2015 Ford Transit Wheels (Full Sized Van)

Yes - I agree - I actually don't like the look of most aluminum rims on a Pinzgauer - I would consider the steel wheels however as they should keep the wheel on the rim better than the stock pinz wheels and might be easier to get correctly balanced. For the price of these you could get something muc...

Re: New 2015 Ford Transit Wheels (Full Sized Van)

I'd say its 90%+ that the 2015 ford transit rims will fit.... Check the other thread "Stainless steel lug nuts" for pics of the previous euro transit rims on a pinz - also this posting: "I just ran that tag in the Ford system. The part IS 4138552, engineering # is YC151007DE. Also, th...

Re: Stainless steel lug nuts

Those Transit rims are different looking than the new 2015 Ford Transit just showing up at ford dealers here in NA - but I suspect the backspacing and such is the same - slightly more offset to the outside. The newer rims have a smoother center area and ten holes in the outside rather than the five ...

Re: Stainless steel lug nuts

Hey Geneva - can you post a picture of your transit rims? how is the offset? I was considering having some custom lug nuts made up at one time in stainless steel - but mostly to allow switching to a larger lug wrench size - the stock ones look kinda small - guess I just thought my truck needed to ha...

Re: Enjoying the truck

There are no restrictions on getting any vehicle into the event - just hard to get it onto the "playa" during the burn unless it is an "Art Car" type rig and approved by the DMV - Department of Mutant Vehicles. The second year I got it out on the playa to haul a big generator out...

Re: Lift body off from the drivetrain

Hello Tom - This is Christopher from up in Mount Vernon WA - I think you came up to my shop when Andre was out. I've lifted the front of my pinz a couple of different ways over the years - I also recently noticed that the website for the company Gut-automotive has a photo that shows them lifting an ...
