Re: Front impact protection. petrol tank protection
Hi TechMOGogy, I live in the UK, London to be precise, and I'm thinking of building these things with my fabricator precisely because I don't see any commercially available bits in the UK, and to some extent cost, my fabricator turns out good work at reasonable cost. I'm deducing that would be Andre...

Electronic speedometer sender
Hi again folks My original speedo needs fixing, if I don't manage to do that in the next few days, I'm thinking of installing this http://www.speedhut.com/gauge/GR338-SPEEDO-14/7/Speedometer-80mph-programmable (there seem to be too many complaints about VDO electronic speedos on this forum, hence my...

Front impact protection. petrol tank protection
Hi everyone My 710K is about to get some welding and fabrication work. I want to get some front impact protection going, essentially a tube above the front bumper wrapping around the front vertical body edges. Maybe two vertical pipes for strength somewhere. Two questions about that please: Ideas fo...

Re: My locks are corroded, no keys
Hi Clive and undysworld, My electrical key comes out when parked. I'm thinking of a few other things, eg two fuel line taps, find one but ha ha there's still another. GPS tracking too. I used to have a ridgeback, also good on the deterrent front, but my circumstances don't allow for another dog at t...

Re: My locks are corroded, no keys
Great, thanks undysworld and Clive I'm still researching electrolysis for brass cleaning, the jury is out atm, depending on the solution used it may or may not be a bit harsh. It seems, at least in the UK, that the way to go initially is to use a penetrating oil called Plus Gas http://www.rapidtools...

Re: My locks are corroded, no keys
Thanks Albert. Price looking less scary than I thought it would be :D Well depending on the lock type, some lock barrels are definitely expensive. Further question Anyone got any higher security solutions / other solutions for door locking besides replacing locks please? I don't trust the scroats ar...

My locks are corroded, no keys
Hi Everyone I've got a five door 710K. I dont have keys to the door locks, and when I pulled the interior part of the latch/lock mechanism, I saw that the lock barrel/body looked totally corroded. So I dont have much hope for getting keys cut by a locksmith to work the lock. Any hints please? Total ...

Re: Fuel leak seen on carb body
Brilliant, thanks so much 4x4Pinz, Jimm391730, and audiocontr. Does anyone know the other part of my question please, the internal diameter of the fuel supply piping? And perhaps how much of it there is in a 710? I'll buy some in the UK and take it over to Sweden with me, just in case I need it. Thi...

Fuel leak seen on carb body
Hi Background: So my 410K is in Sweden, and I really need to get it back to the UK without spending too much time at it's storage location, where it's been sitting and mostly not driven for two or more years. I bought it a year ago, I'm a pinz noob, and can't leave it there for much longer. While I ...

Where to find a rim for a 710K in sweden?
Hi everyone Any ideas where or how I might find a rim for a 710K in Sweden please??? Its for a spare, it could be from anywhere provided it's cheap to ship to Southern Sweden (though a local place would be great) and it could be from any vehicle provided it's compatible enough to get me to the next ...

Re: Theft-proofing a 710 ???
FWIW, If you still had the title for that FJ, I'd think you could have made the seller's life real unpleasant. I'd be calling the cops, if only on principle. Thieves suck. Indeed they suck, but in that case I would just have been wasting my time, the guy had a great defence, can't go and ask a pers...

Re: Theft-proofing a 710 ???
Thanks everyone, maybe gone some way to assuage my paranoia. I'm sure I can do something useful with wiring and GPS, these are fairly close to my trade.... a lock on the steering wheel is nice and visible too. Dalmatians yes, useful, being an ex-Ridgeback owner I'd personally go for a Ridgeback, tho...
