As Vince suspected, the 12V starter installed in my 24V c303 is cooked. Autozone can't find a replacement, & the local rebuilder says they can't rebuild & convert it to 24V.

Does anybody have any suggestions ?

I began with regression therapy. Taking the button back to a time 37 years ago when it was a spry springy actuator. Next came the addition of meds, i.e. spray, and a breakthrough followed.

I agree about holding down the button. It was only my first week with the truck and I was hoping for something magical to happen. I guess it did - dark magic.

I will be pulling the starter tomorrow.

My aluminum panels are a bit beat up. I know it shouldn't matter . . .

But, does anybody know where to source replacements ?

the previous owner installed a 12V starter on the 24V C303. I'm told it spins 2x as fast as a 24V starter, and it sure sounds it. Sometimes the truck starts fine, sometimes it spins and I just hear it whirring away. I pause,then hit the button again, and it usually starts. Yesterday I went to start ...

Can anybody offer suggestions on how to get the 4 wheel drive button to pop back up ? I have only owned the truck for a few days, and am completely new to how it operates. ( so, I'm hoping there's something basic I am not doing). The previous owner said it hadn't happened before. It's now in 4 wheel...
