Re: Anyone tried the Victron 24-12v converters?

The smaller sealed unit in the original post represents the 10a/20a units. The larger unit pictured is the 70a unit with a thermal switch and fan. Victron is manufactured in India. I've recently replaced the no-name converter that I was using to supply 12v to the EZ Power Steering and a couple of mi...

Re: Stainless exhaust fab

If I recall correctly, back pressure of the exhaust should be ~2lbs.

Re: Pinzgauer Cargo/Kitchen/Bed Platform F/S

Okay, motivated seller time. Pick it up by 03/04 and it's yours for a 12pk. I'd really like to see someone get some use from this. If no takers, I'm going to repurpose the 5-bar and drawer slides, then scrap the rest.

Re: Battery replacement

Having gone down the rabbit hole of "what's the best battery choice?" recently, I settled on the AutoZone Duralast Gold variety. FWIW, I never go cheap on my batteries, but I don't go too fancy after some bad Optima experiences. I used to be a DieHard fan, but those are not what they used...

Re: Balancing on factory wheels

Some folks have gone the DIY route with BB's and other substitutes materials. After some trial and error with my 255/85R16 BFG KM3s I definitely recommend against the BB/DIY approach . Specifically, the larger/heavier (per bead) airsoft BBs don't disperse as early as proper balancing beads. In my c...

Re: Webasto Air Top 2000 Install

My hardtop is new fabrication by Andre at Fat Fabrications due to some "unpleasantness"... Anyway, the new top has additional framing and reinforcements. The top has paneling in the interior upper corners that runs the length of each side in order to conceal electrical, etc. I mounted the ...

Re: Webasto Air Top 2000 Install

By the way, if you search eBay for "Webasto Air Top 2000" you should find a number of Russian sellers selling in the $600-$700 range with a "Best Offer" option. A $500-$550 offer should get you one of these heaters. It did for me. If you can find one, a 24V petrol Chinese heater ...

Re: Hatch rattle fix?

My roof hatch has developed a rattle at the hinge at speeds over 50MPH. I've confirmed this is the rattle site, and it largely seems to be due to some play in the hinge pin. It goes away with some upward pressure from inside and the noise can be replicated when stopped. I can imagine several possib...

Webasto Air Top 2000 Install

After doing an inspection and some minor repairs on the original Eberspacher heating unit I decided to err on the side of caution and installed a new 2KW Webasto 12V gasoline Air Top 2000 in its place. I already had a 60A step-down converter installed for the EZ PS, so I pulled from that for the hea...
