Re: When to check engine oil level (filter drainback?)
I'm finding that the engine oil level creeps up over time after shutdown, and am suspecting that it's due to the oil draining slowly out of the filter into the crankcase. Do others have that same experience? My filter is Mann W940/29. Mate, you use the wrong filter ... The W940/29 does not have the...

I have seen pick up and drop off locations, what is your time frame ?
Is the truck ready for a long distance trip ?

Re: Ring Gear Replacement.
I had that issue some years ago http://up.picr.de/26566052ag.jpg The ring on the flywheel was partially worn. Sometimes the starter hit a tooth and turned the engine, often it spun free. I removed the gearbox, took off the flywheel and it was easy to get the gear ring off. I put the flywheel on a su...

Re: Misc Carbs questions
Kelvin The finer the sanding paper you use, the better the result. When I redid my carbs I sanded all mating surfaces, i.e. head to body, body to throttle assy and choker. you correctly identified the location of the metric nuts I mentioned. I used philips head screws M6 x 40 to connect throttle ass...

Re: Misc Carbs questions
Kelvin Your float level is way too low. If you cannot remove any shims underneath the float valve, simply bend the center piece of the float to adjust the height. The NDIX floats consist of two buoyancing elements, which have to move independently. Purpose is to keep the fuel level correct as the lo...

Re: VW Jetronic mechanical fuel injection swap
AudioNW As far as I can tell you create replacement pieces for the carburators and install the injectors there. The pic from Joeri shows the injectors much closer to the inlet valves. I would machine down the inlet manifolds to create a flat surface, and cast small injector holders that can be bolte...

Re: cylinder cup and seal
I have used that approach for brake cylinders on the front axle. They have the bleeding connector facing inwards and another smaller pipe connecting both cylinders. I took an old piece of brake pipe and soldered a grease nipple to the other end. So I was able to use the full pressure of the grease g...

Once you remove the pan, you have access to the pump.
There is a service-note about the fastening bolts; you might want to check that

Re: Headlights not working on Austrian 712K
Lads the relais gets triggered on connectors 15 and 31 . So if you disconnect them and insert a bulb you can verify the light switch part of the indicator lever is ok. now I assume you have 24 volts on both input connectors, 56 and 81a. 81a has got to be active with main power on and fuse 9 ok,56 is...

gotta get used to that. don't get me wrong, the lugs offered by S-Tec are the standard lugs you have on your truck..
They have no locking lugs in their offerings.
