Optical illusion. I had the same wheels with same off-set from Trail Ready. His FB page shows better pics and they dont look to stick out as far as they do in this close up/ wierd angle shot. It also makes the rub rails look like they are built with 3 inch spacers, but I'm guessing about 1 1/2".

Spotted some rub rails at Mule on Instagram. looking good! I think we need a heavy pic update.

I did search a little here and didn't find the drawings I had remembered indicating center of gravity, but found this for a good read;

You will need a 1974 or earlier in CA. Have you tried Scott at Expidition Imports? He was bringing back some from Europe on his recent trip I believe.
