Re: winch mount.....

No difference. Air is also pulled in from the bottom of the engine area. I had my 710 M running in the desert of SoCal and Death Valley where it was so hot that touching the metal body would burn your skin...115 deg F easy for air temp. No issue with winch in front.

Re: Rubbing strip removal

The wood against the body traps moisture and then rust begins. When installing new or refurbished rails of any type put a 1/8 inch fender washer as a stand off spacer to allow the rail not to touch the body. Really makes little difference in the design and function of the rail.

Re: Padlock for tool/battery box

I removed the levers, drilled them out a bit larger and used Master locks (kit of three with same key) for the tool, battery box and petrol can.

Re: Toy guns that fit into holders?

No longer a Pinzgauer owner but I will chime in anyway...I am with Paul on this issue. Being that it is already an ex military vehicle, carrying a gun (in the military we were taught to call it a weapon) is a seriously flawed overextension and overly redundant and just asking for some anti gun indiv...

Propane tank bracket

This is sort of my version of the post Pinzgauer project but did not want to take away from the great photos from that classy van and its roaming.

Made brackets for the propane tank and posted to Photo Bucket.

Great looking pinz and obviously you are pleased with the work performed by Andre. Always hear good things about him, it is such a joy to know that quality work is still being done in the pinz community.

Re: China has copied the Pinzgauer

You bettcha I would have one. Almost everything made and consumed comes from there and yet people are so down on the place. I don't get it. Just cause it is not from USA doesn't make it less of a deal. Look at the mfg label on the pinz you now have...not from USA. China really doesn't have regard fo...

Re: China has copied the Pinzgauer

Perhaps not 'quality' but almost everything that we buy says 'Made in China' you may as well get used to it. Check what you are wearing or using on a daily basis.

Re: Stopping water from entering through doors.

Not sure how everyone goes with these mods but I ran the drain out of the door top so that I would not have to deal with the hose if I wanted to remove the tops, everything went with the same part. I had also filed the door cavity with styrofoam insulation as a sound deadening mod. The pinz is a big...

Must ride like a covered wagon on the Oregon trail. Needs to be pink.
Why isn't the gas cap white? Maybe in next set of mods coming up.

Rocky Mountain Pinzgauers

RMP just had their Treffen in Gunnison, CO. I donated all my left over pinz parts and items to the raffle and now have nothing left but memories. I really do miss that pinz but it went to a good home and will be loved and cared for there. Even lovingly put away for the harsh North Dakota winters. Ha...
