Re: Battery equalizer
Berger, I have installed a switch in the lead from the battery to the converter (per Jim) and have had no drainage issues. I do remove the battery key when it is not running and I may save some things but, the direct connection to the batteries would not be affected by the battery key in my case. W...

Re: Battery equalizer
While reading through past posts and trying to absorb as much as I could before I get a Pinz, I have read a few things on EQ/Converters etc. I installed a 24/12 EQ/Converter, made by John Deere, into my Iltis, and I experienced many of the same issues people have had with batteries dying, losing cha...

24v Bulbs
Hey Guys.
I have a few boxes of spare bulbs I picked up for my Iltis, and I was wondering if they fit in the Pinz? These are dash, indicator sized bulbs...They are:
#1683
#1819
#1251
Thanks!

Re: MK1 seats
Thanks. Ya, they could be too plush, and I forgot how much narrower the passenger side was. I could tell right away during my test drive. I will hold onto them, and if they don't fit, sell them.

MK1 seats
I have a set of MKI seats that came from an '84 Audi 4000 Quattro and I was wondering if they would fit in a Pinz? I bought these for the Iltis, and they slid right into the seat rails. I was going to sell them, but perhaps I should keep them for the Pinz.

Re: Thinking of a Pinz
Love at first sight. That's the only problem with these toys. It looks really nice. Enjoy it. BTW, it looks as if it had an antenna. Any chance it might have been a radio truck? Maybe that explains the rear seats arrangement. Ya, it has the mount on the roof. I thought it was a tire mount, but it i...

Neither can I. My work blocks photo sharing sites...and their links. Re: Thinking of a Pinz
Looks like a good truck. Passes what my initial visual checks of rust and body condition but its tough to tell from the photos. A good indicator is that damn muffler! If its not stainless, the thing should rot out quick in salty/wet conditions. nature of the beast but a good indicator! The muffler ...

Re: Thinking of a Pinz
Went to Montreal today to look at a 710M. A buddy of mine, who first put me onto these trucks, came with me. He never pulled the trigger on one, but wanted to come. I wasn't expecting to take it for a spin, but I did....Very cool!! Driving over the wheel is definitely a different feeling. The truck ...

Re: 24v 4 channel amplifier project finally "Complete"
That is great! I may swap out the 12V setup I installed in my Iltis for something like that. How do you wire those amp boards into the 24v batteries? I'll try to compare specs tomorrow. As far as wiring, you wire it directly to 24v. No need for an inverter. It actually performs better at 24v than 1...
