Re: Pinzi SSI

Do not try to out guess the advance curves. Just set it to tdc. The two curves work vey well. The exact location of the led will probably not match the image in the manual. I was told the internals of the module are not indexed to the exterior, so don't try to match the alignment in the picture,

New rattle on startup

After a 200 mile off-road jaunt through Idaho's backcountry, my truck has developed a nasty rattle on startup. If I start in neutral, there's no problem, but with the clutch depressed there's a deep rattle until the engine is started and up to idle speed and clutch released. I assume throw-out beari...

Re: 2.7 liter info

I've spoken to classic sue and gut last year and I'm not sure it's necessary to go to Europe for parts on this. Jim L. knows more about building a 2.7 than he types on these pages. Cylinders, pistons, cam, etc can all be had from US sources. Where in Idaho are you? Maybe we do 2 at the same time?

We've seen a few pictures of Bernhard's trailer over the years, but here's a nice article that walks through the whole build-

Re: Question about Fuel Injection

Hi Krick3tt, Fwiw, I've been toying with this for a while too and the simplified answer I've received from Jim and others is that the stock cam is a problem and the best way to make Hp is with the 2.7l upgrade and a new cam. Efi and ssi help with the drive ability, but don't change the fundamental i...

Re: Really stuck locker piston

Old thread revival going here- My 4x4 locker was stuck on/engaged for a few weeks. I bled the system and knew the levers were working, so it meant the piston was not disengaging. Pulling the slave cylinder is really easy. Getting the piston out was NOT. The piston was stuck because of the corrosion ...

I like it! What thickness and where did you source the accurate 5 bar tread plate?

Welcome to the club! Mirrors should be listed as consumables. Do a search from mirror as its been discussed a lot and there are several less expensive options if you don't need to stay original.

Re: Any posts here on what to look for when buying a Pinzgau

Fortunately someone archived Juergen's old website and it's pre-purchase checklist. There's lots of great info on the old SDP Pinz website and it still an immense help and guide Pinz owners everywhere.

Re: Muffler Development - Not far off

I did a little write-up of my installation. I ceramic coated mine and it's working great so far. Not sure how regular powder coat would hold up.
