Re: AUX Heater in a K model
My '71 710K heater is "t-d" off of the fuel line. I suspect it could drain the tank.. I have never ran it more than an hour. This is a result of living in San Diego.

Re: Anyone replace the windshield bottom seal in a K model?
I had to replace mine since it was leaking and causing corrosion issues. I put the new one on with the same adhesive I used for the door gasket (wurth black weatherstrip adhesive). I only sealed it to the bottom of the window frame (in case I ever fold down the window). While my truck is a "K&q...

Re: Muffler Development - Not far off
Received mine. Stainless steel is really pretty. I was worried it would detract from from the Pinz's inherent beauty. Six 41 year old bolts between the heat exchanger and the muffler... Sheared all of them off with an air wrench. Had to cut out the middle two. Removed rust and patched the holes on t...

Re: WTF? Message from steelsoldiers.com?
Just as a FYI... This forum, the contributors and it's moderators are marvelous. The information in the forum allowed me to reach out 2 years ago and buy a 710K (missing it's top and "slightly" rusty but it ran) The contributors kindly gave me all the information I needed to make the evils...

Re: K model rear interior lights
I think the interior lights only work when the doors are closed to prevent breaking "black-out" rules. On mine there were switches on the back doors that needed to be cleaned. Test for power there if you don't have power at the socket.

Re: new owner question
And the chain loop in the spare tire on the back has a hook on one end that hooks to the bumper to keep the rear door open when on an incline.

Are they located on the back? I can't see them on your signature picture?

Re: FIRST TIME TOWING A TRAILER ANY ADVICE?
Just successfully did this. Hurtles that had to be overcome were... 1. 24 volt to 12 volt trailer issues (thank you Jim L. for pointing out that the inputs were for inputs and not outputs. Glad there were some diodes in the design to save me.) 2. Inverter to power the LED Christmas lights. It's amaz...

Re: Electrical glitch question.
When my main switch died (assisted by a lot of rust) I attached my jumper cable from the negative battery terminal and connected the other end to my freshly stripped body. Looked very crude, but I was able to move the vehicle around until the new switch arrived.

Re: Battery equalizer
Finished version is inconspicuous, should not snag on stuff and seems to make a difference. ie my abused batteries actually are starting the vehicle. Downsides... It is another damn thing that I get asked about after answering someones question with, "No, the truck does not float" .

Re: Battery equalizer
While this is not a "battery equalizer", it may help if you have standby time between runnings. I would recommend a 24 volt battery charger conditioner... I looked into them and did not buy due to price. EI now has some that may improve your batteries or will extend the life of new batteri...

Re: EI Hardtop
My 710K is topless (top went to some movie...). I bought the truck and hardtop from EI. I like it. Everyone who has experience with 710Ms tell me it is a lot quieter. I left the center support (that holds the canvas up in the cab) in place and I drilled a hole in each front corner to lock it in plac...
