Re: electric power steering
Yes - while not a portal vehicle I have been looking at power steering for my Landrover 101 FC - it has an empty weight of 2 tonnes and loaded 3.5tonnes and my investigations have indicated that these electric steering devices are Ok if I do not load it up - BUT - if I load it up, the load is in the...

Re: electric power steering
Most of these electric power steering are only suitable for vehicles with a Max Weight or 4500lbs or 2000kg. Depending what you carry in your vehicle these may be a bit small.

Re: Question about fuel pump block off
Hmm - I also have an electric fuel pump and just have a plate over the hole - as I do not have any issues I guess I can assume it was done right and not pull the cover off just to have a look see.

Re: Haflinger Zenith Carby
Yes it did and looks OK - I am waiting for a local carby expert to get back from holidays to discuss with him getting it rebuilt using the specifications provided by Jim in an earlier post. I will also need to source a manifold as mine was modified to take the carby I currently have. I have the corr...

Re: Haflinger trailer
All I was curious about was what nose weight you got from the position of the Haflinger in that sort of trailer. John We have similar laws to the UK - hence I put brakes on my trailer to carry the Haffie. I have not measured ball weight on my setup as it will be well less than the requirements of a...

Re: Steyr, or Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6 G-class
The 6x6 was developed for the Australian (not Austrian) Army vehicle contract and we now have them in service - looks like MB has decided to use the basic design to produce civilian versions.

Re: Haflinger Distributor Maps
Thanks Jim - I gave a more detailed response over on TheHaflinger forum.
At the back of my handbook was a handwritten map that I took to be a modifed 123 map but it ties in with the Haflinger one you published - so the previous owner who did this work must have used it.
Thanks again

Re: Replacing Springs
OK so I just got a bunch of parts for my hafi shipped to me from overseas. In that order I apparently ordered a set of suspension springs on accident My Haffie has heavy duty springs in the rear (from when it was a gold prospecting vehicle in the desert) and as a result the rear wheels point in sub...

Re: Haflinger Zenith Carby
Ship it to me in Canada and I will ship it to your home address? Thanks - has been sorted - the seller was not aware that Ebay had put the requirement to use the Global Shipping Program in the listing and was not aware of its introduction. Ebay US gets away with things that is not tolerated here in...

Re: Haflinger Zenith Carby
Thanks Jim - My home is 650m (2000Ft) and local mountains where I go are 1500m (5000Ft) but occasionally I am down on the coastal sand dunes. Temps range from 45°C (110F) in summer down to -8°C (17F) in winter.Jim LaGuardia wrote:For tropical regions below 1200 MSL the 115 would be best choice .
