As an alternative, I think this is still available but not for sure.

Re: broken heat xchanger outlets - pic added.....

Yes, I took it apart because of significant rust on one side. Although I could not find a good or new exchanger then, I was able to find the half shell that I needed. I cut it apart, cleaned and media blasted it and a friend help to weld the shell back on. The internal fins are cast aluminum around ...

Re: broken heat xchanger outlets - pic added.....

I am going outside my expertise a bit but I have had one of those exchangers torn apart. Perhaps if you could find a pipe whose OD is close to the old ID, one could weld that to the relatively beefy flange then insert into the old pipe to clamp. Actually you could take the pipe all the way to the fr...

The mirror supports are original. I also thought the mirrors themselves were original swiss but someone told me they were not. I believe they may be the diesel ones that SAV sells.

Re: WTB: Seat belt for right-most rear seat in a K model

A little tangent here but I thought I would chime in with how I dealt with rear belts. My original belts were pretty worn so I got a set of the original front retractable belts from SAV and put them in the left and right rear. No more loose belts in the way and flopping around. They fit well, match ...

Re: 710K hardtop removal - how hard?

IMG_3166.jpg Good morning! I just did this last year. A bit daunting at first but really not that hard. You have to be patient removing the bolts over the windshield frame, M6 I think, that screw into the frame. No nuts to lose. the sides and back are bolted with maybe 18 bolts total. You should be...

Re: What is this tray for?

Jan,
I am somewhat bringing my 710K back to original form though adding some up to date accessories as well. Our part suppliers, SAV and EI, lack many of the small parts; things like the shelf straps, front antenna brackets, table supports, etc. Do you have access to those in Switzerland?

Re: Whine towards rear

Hard to say if yours has a normal amount of sound without hearing it but yes, there is a lot of noise at higher speeds/revolutions. And you are right, the enclosed top exacerbates that. Mine quieted a lot with tightening every thing up, new weatherstripping, sound proofing in the doors, and items in...

Re: What is this tray for?

I am lazy this morning so I won't pull out the parts book but I believe that is the shelf for the bag of snow chains. Good for you if you have all of the shelves. Mine had been removed but included with purchase. They were pretty rusty so it took some work to get them cleaned up and powder coated. N...
