Re: engine swaps...????

Interesting, that's not one I've ever heard of I'll check it out. 2300 RPM limit would likely create more limitations, sounds like an engine designed to work at a particular rpm range. I completely agree with your statement above regarding the C30xx series Volvo's being a better choice than an air c...

Re: Disc brake conversion

http://www.classic-sue.com/gal/scheibenbremsen.html Classic sue has a very similar conversion to GUT, I had also just assumed that both these conversions were using TD hubs and outer portal "faceplates". I never bothered to find out the finer details because their prices were way more than...

Re: Disc brake conversion

I would be interested in a disc conversion in the same way that I'm interested in any upgrades that improve our Pinzgauers. That being said I would need to have confidence in the kit in question before I would commit to purchase, the cost of said kit is a huge factor as well. Any kit that's in keepi...

Kamo Oko Vidi... New Volvo parts supplier?

http://www.custom4x4parts.com/volvo-c303-upgrades/ These guys are new to me but perhaps others have heard of them. I just stumbled across this while looking for an old link, they seem to be focused on the trophy truck market mainly offering axle related upgrades but they do have a couple of goodies ...

Re: Gas Tank Leak Woes...(dun dun duuuuun)

That's the perch for your bump stop that's missing, its job is exactly as you described. From the photo it looks like it might have completely rusted away but that's a bit hard to believe. If you don't want to fabricate something to do the job, (you have the other side to go from) you could contact ...

Re: Exhaust pipe size?

Thanks waterdog,

Are those with 2.7lt engines also running 2 inch? Mines a factory 2.7 and I'm considering two and a quarter inch from the muffler through to the rear of the vehicle. Just curious as to what others with 2.7's have done.

Re: popping and stumble

Weber's like around 3 psi and will overwhelm the float anything above 4.5 psi. I would say the popping is likely excess fuel popping in the exhaust from a slightly high fuel pressure, a lot of those cheap 12volt pumps will easily run 6 to 7 psi even if the are rated to 4. Either fix the original mec...

Re: Volvo c304 + VW T3 double cab

Yes I am also very interested in how this build is progressing, Martin have you managed to get the dual cab VW body fitted to the chassis yet? It looks to be quite a good fit for the 6x6 Volvo, I'm also planning to turn my 1314 into a dual cab with tray space but I've been thinking of modifying the ...

Exhaust pipe size?

I'm about to reroute my exhaust more to my liking and since my Pinz came to me with the non genuine system that's on it I would like to know what size pipe was used by Steyr before the muffler and then from the muffler back in the stock system. I'm not making any changes to the system from the engin...

Re: Intro from Malaysia - WR7002 - C304

Often the mesh strainer found in most IP's is a source of white smoke or lean condition, you've probably already ruled this out if your pulling the injectors but if not then you should definitely check it as the first point when looking for cause of white smoke. They are often hidden inside a banjo ...

Re: Looking to buy Volvo TGB11

Here's the link to the tgb 20/C306 I spoke of in my previous post, actually on eBay and was reposted here.

A fair bit bigger than a 1111 but I thought it was worth a mention anyway.

Re: Looking to buy Volvo TGB11

I dealt with Joacim and found his service and help excellent, he surpassed all my expectations. In the beginning I called him which let him know I was a serious buyer and not a time waster. I think these guys get a lot of emails expressing interest in buying but often the sale will never eventuate f...
