Re: Heat resistant hose for intake manifold

Purchased a heater hose and a muffler repair kit, containing a metallic self adhesive tape and a fiberglass/aluminum wrap. Used only the metallic tape for now. Hose on order from SAV.

Re: Ignition Coil and idling issues SOLVED! (I think..)

Following the advice of the forum readers, I adjusted the valves hoping that it was just that and not blown valves... ran to get a compression gauge and.... 150 - 145 - 150 - 150 !!! Problem solved!! Right? I start the engine and it pops and backfires and puffs and wont idle. Well... time for the ve...

Heat resistant hose for intake manifold

Anyone can suggest type of hose to use for the intake manifold under the tunnel? Must be heat resistant, I could order from SAV for $4 but would really like to finish the job this weekend.
Any suggestions on what to ask and at which local store?
Thanks
JC

Re: Ignition Coil and idling issues

Checked valves for cylinders 3 and 4, the ones with low compression values. Both had the exhaust valves tight. I have not yet started the engine... I will be back with the results tomorrow.

Re: Ignition Coil and idling issues

Thank you all for the advice, a little bit of hope!! I am assuming cylinders/rings are good, because there is no oil smoke at all, is this a fair assumption? I could borrow a compressor fitting to blow the cylinders and check the rings. If I adjust the valves, what would be the worst acceptable comp...

Re: lpg- cylinder head temps

Ran on propane for about 400 hours.. after converting back to gas, it would not run well. Cause of the problem, compression 145-155-20-85. Put the propane carb back and ran ok (as usual on propane, at least not backfiring). Anyway, I will have to redo the heads... I can't say the propane is the culp...

Re: Ignition Coil and idling issues

In my approach to fixing the problem I never considered doing a compression test. Problem found... bad news. My numbers are 145 - 155 - 20 - 85 psi. Obviously something wrong with valves, since there is absolutely no smoke coming out the exhaust, is this a fair assumption? Who can fix my cylinder he...

Re: Pinzi 718 from Germany to Chile!

Hello Felipe, Como estas? I am from Argentina, but live in the USA and own a 710K Pinz. Junst curious. What does it take to import a Pinz to Chile? If I ever moved to Bariloche, I thought I could have it with Chilean tags and drive it from there... Another comment, you mentioned you changed the boot...

Re: Ignition Coil and idling issues

Engine still a mess. Engine ran on propane quite well. Now on carbs... ugly. Engine runs ok over about 2000 rpm. Just ok, sometimes there is some popping.... But at low rpm's.. a mess. It will only start with full choke. Still struggling to stay running if I don't pump the throttle, at least for the...

Well... all those cables are for that controller that I never managed to do anything. Disregard all those wires.

Re: Ignition Coil and idling issues

Yes, choke working fine (a little stiff, wont go back to off always, sometimes needs help from the top hatch).
Timing is my next task... what coil can I use just in case mine is weak?

Ignition Coil and idling issues SOLVED! (I think..)

So my gasoline experience, so far, has been horrible, and I truly miss my Impco propane carburator... nothing to adjust! My situation right now is that I can run the truck quite well at high RPMs, but the idle settings are a mess. I have not yet done all the homework, I still need to ensure I have n...

Good bye propane... hello gasoline...

This winter I decided to convert back to gasoline my 710K, after more than 10 years of fun running on propane. I bought the truck sometime in 2005 or 2006 from a man who had converted the engine to run on propane, I believe, just for fun. Here are the pros and cons of the propane conversion: Pros: E...
