4500 RPM Module location

The module is a black box with a wire connector attached to the right side as you look forward. Located under the dash board on the forward wall of the vehicle just to the right of the steering shaft if memory serves me right. Easy to remove ....only two screws. Touch to fix. It can be jumped to com...

Another air conditioning question.....

Has anyone seen or tried the Dometic brand 24volt air conditioner. If so, how well does it work and where in the US can I find one. I've been shopping the net for info on sales and can't find a dealer. Is it european only? It seems to be similiar to the units used in RV vehicles and self contained a...

Auto Eject plugs

I've put Kussmul auto eject plugs into fire apparatus for years. Two things....they are expensive for what they do and when they fail, it can result in body damage as they are set into the body panel to proovide a smoother finish. I think the concept of driving away and leaving a $50 cord in the cam...

Greetings, I recently replaced the seats in my 710k. Seats came from a Accura and took almost no fabrication to fit into the rig. I began with a piece of 1/8" aluminum sheet and cut it so it would sit over the floor mounts. I cut slots so the forward screww holes would line up and used metric a...

Hydraulic fluid resovoir behind locker controls

There is a fluid resovoir that feed fluid to the three locker control valves behind the center console of the dash area. All the hoses are cracked and the fluid seems to have drained prior to purchasing the vehicle. I am now re-inventing a hose assembly between the resovoir and the locker valves. 1....

Ca. Registration

In answer to the question. I purchased the vehicle in Nevada and it formally had a Nevada title and plates. As I said, there was no problem registering the vehicle here in California. Listed as a Pinz. 7 digit VIN. INsurence is the problem. Liabilitiy is easy through anyone but the other coverages (...

California Pinz registration

Greetings all. I registered my 1974 Pinz last year in the San Francisco Bay Area. I went to my local DMV who were of course confused. they had no problem registering the rig but were totally confused as to how to integrate a VIN #. ELECTRICALLY Challenged

I would also love to get any pictures illustrating what you have done. Although not a complete novice, I beleive that re creating the wheel is not the best wat to solve a problem. Did you install a VDO electronic speedo? I'm also looking for power supply points for this installation. Info can be sen...

Spare Wire....

Jim, One day I'd love to meet you. What a knowledge base. I taped off the wire as it does appear to be a spare. Also checked the parts in the 4500 rpm module and dicovered no vibration, clicking, or indication of an activation. So....Closed it up, reconnected the old unit ( without any light activat...

Spare Wire? Help

Ok, so my efforts to find the problem with the 4500 rpm control module continue. If you remember my previous post, the 4500 light stays on all the time. At least it comes on now that I have a used module installed. Here is the new dilemna. While checking and making sure connections are tight and cle...

4500 RPM Module

I have had my Pinz for about a year now and never had the overspeed module provide a lighted indication on start up or while driving. I located a used module, installed it and now the reverse is true. The light came on when I turned the key in the ignition (YEA - Its finally working) but now the lig...
