Re: Is "pop starting" in reverse possible?

Are you wanting to put it in a forward gear or reverse gear? Reverse, no problem- haven't done it on a Pinz but many times on a Jeep. Push backwards with it in a forward gear? I honestly don't know, but it can't be good for the drivetrain.

Re: Carburetor rebuild

Scary? How so?

National Carb is 10 min from my work- I dropped them off. Installed the carbs last night- didn't have time to hook up linkage or to balance, but it runs like a sewing machine! Will get time to test drive this weekend but I'm really impressed with the build.

Carburetor rebuild

Before and after. Rebuilt by National Carburetors in Jacksonville FL (904-636-9400). Cost was $125 each with me providing kits from SAV. I'll hopefully get them back on this weekend and will post an update of how they work :)

Re: Shifter ???'s

My 10K has the reverse collar but it was a civilian. Not sure where it lived but it's a single windshield (as opposed to the split Austrian one). Random- was REALLY bored the other night and found my truck when it originally was for sale through SAV (2004 I believe). http://www.pinzgauer.com/shpics....

Re: Fan Belt Removal

Replaced mine this weekend. Tried my air wrench first and it wouldn't even budge. Was eventually able to get the gun in there which made quick work of the whole affair. The belt was TOAST

Re: Production numbers by year

Thanks Paul! Lots of good information there, but they never seemed to pin down total production numbers. I'd love to see something that details total manufacture numbers by year (and ideally by model). It's got to be out there somewhere. :)

Hey AZ- Looks like your truck is for sale in Denmark:

I'm thinking of buying your truck from the guy in Denmark- it's way cheaper than your price

Re: Best Companies for Pinzgauer Insurance

Old thread; I know, but due for a revisit. Just insured the Pinz with Hagerty with $18500 stated value for $297.00/yr. Hagerty is one of the few speciality carriers that does not have a limit on mileage. Very easy process and great to deal with- highly recommended.
