Re: Fuel filler hose?

Hands shake reallly bad, so I have my son post for me sometimes. Yeah, glad to be still kicking, and I think everyone else in town misses our truck, given the amount of free pull-outs we do around town with it in the winter! I got a reply from Joachim Halling at Coatex AB in Malmo, (the gentleman we...

Fuel filler hose?

The reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated! Our rubber fuel line is split. This is the big one that connects the fuel filler pipe to the flange on the passenger side of the tank. It's roughly 2¾" diameter by roughly 10" or a foot long. Nobody local sells ethanol-safe rubber, (o...

Or, if you're a cheap bastige like me, you'd file a slot across both ends for a big screwdriver.

Go buy a cheap wrench at Wally-World and grind it flat. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes with a new grinding pad.

It's got a tube in it, and the ones I run on are much better, no dry rot. 5 new 900R16 STA Super Lugs in the fall.

New belts on my cable holders

Image

Petsmart has leather dog collars cheap. 1" wide, just right to replace the belts that hold your tow cable inside your spare. Cut to length, bolt in place. Easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy.

Pinch bar is another name for a small pry bar. It's an old rigger's term.

That thing is so ugly, it's beautiful! I love it. Nice job on the lights, too.

Re: A general converter question

Yeah, instructions call for switched ACC only, not constant hot, so it must have some sort of power storage. It's a remote faceplate, so there's probably a small battery in it. Thanks for the heads up though. I'm holding off completing the install until the multimeter gets here so I can do it right.

Re: A general converter question

Thanks! Don't have a Harbor Freight here, but I can order it online easy enough. Only $4.99, huh? Are you sure it's not cheap Chinese junk? (I don't want Vince to yell at me! ;)

Re: A general converter question

Thanks, Dan. Don't have a meter so we're doing it the old trial and error method. Maybe tomorrow, though, when I'm stronger. Chemo kicked my a$$ today.

Thanks all, I'm sure we'll get 'er working.

Re: A general converter question

That's what I figured, guys. Just wasn't sure if the unswitched lines had to be used also for it to work. I'll try just using the switched lines. It was getting late, didn't get it to work. I probably didn't jump off a hot fuse terminal. (This was a gift from a well-meaning son, I kinda have to use ...
