Re: Lost compression to #1, but no clue what the issue is
Jim L rebuilt it for me a couple years ago. Rings are "new"
I agree with your logic. Guess its time to check for gap spec on the rings. This was a sudden change, not a gradual one... just weird!

Lost compression to #1, but no clue what the issue is
I believe i over revved the engine from trying to take a decline in too high of a gear. It was very strange. Normally the little truck will handle a descent just fine under its own gearing. This time it reved really high and i quickly clutched and braked. I noticed the engine sprayed oil all over th...

JungleJudah,
Your profile photo looks like my first 710m. Is the paint on the windshield frame textured?

Re: WTB: Haflinger
I have a couple of ex military in Detroit. Both are in good shape. One has a bit duller patina, and I guess would benefit from a rehab if so desired. I'd keep it as is =)

I'd love a sensor on each cyl. Would help with ton of troubleshooting and carb adjusting. Wonder if there is an inexpensive clamp on system that i could utilize?

Import into Canada from US?
Any challenges i should be aware of?
We're moving to the Toronto area from Detroit. I'll lug a 712m and 2 Haffies with me. Anything I should be aware of for importation? Will they check for highway safety items? Working wipers, lights, seat belts, Km/hr speedo... back up light??

Re: Inverter generator in the ambulance dual Eberspächer compartment?
I like the HF 3500 units. It will run a rooftop A/C no problem, with power to spare. Loads of folks have incorporated into storage boxes on busses. Basically need to perforate the door and create a baffle that "seals" around the exhaust if you plan to move it in or out. Otherwise i would r...

Least expensive tires?
I possibly put 250 miles a year on my 712. It sits more than it rolls, and when it does roll, it rolls 99% on the highway. I still have the same sun cracked, dried out, knobby tires that were on the truck when i purchased it 6+ years ago. I'd guess they are 10+ years old now. I am WAY over the age l...
