Re: Weight of an ambulance or workshop box?

I've read that the ambulance box is around 2000 lbs, but I can't say for sure.

Re: My Pinzgauer 712 - unknown model variant

I know this is a late reply to an older post, but I just noticed it. Anyhow, the truck looks to me like an Oman variant of an Austrian Rapier truck. The Austrian Rapier missile trucks had drop-sides and tall roofs, unlike the Swiss Rapier trucks. I'll try to attach a photo of one off the net. The FA...

This is the reason I have the 280GE and the 712!

Whoever thought that exhaust system removal would be so peaceful?

Re: 230GE G-Wagen firetruck

Yeah, I think the 240 is a diesel, not the 230. The Swiss Army G's are 230 gassers.

230GE G-Wagen firetruck

Here is a G-wagen with the roll-up side doors in fire truck configuration. I've never seen one until now, I just stumbled across this one on Ebay today. It would be a great camping and expedition rig with those roll up side doors. http://www.ebay.com/itm/222187914940?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&...

Re: My new Puch G

Are you going to do a repaint in a classic G color like the Agave Green or the Colorado Beige? Those are my two favorite MB colors, even though my 280GE is Wheat Yellow; that would be my third choice.

Re: My new Puch G

That is awesome! Congrats on that! I'm pretty certain that my next vehicle will be a w463 worker If I can find one when I'm ready.

Re: Jerry Can Spouts -- WATCH OUT

I'd probably keep the spouts after removing the plastic parts and replacing them with a section of hose.

Re: FOR SALE: 1989 PUCH 300GD

I know you can get both the master and slave cylinders for a w460 at Euro-Truck Importers, because I just ordered a new slave cylinder from them to replace my rear one. I'm gonna guess you could possibly build a new system for maybe $2,000, but I think the small parts like the levers, actuator rods,...

Re: G350D Pro - WANT!!

Oh, i'd buy that in a heartbeat, but M-B refuses to sell the PUR Edition trucks in the USA because it tarnishes their luxury car brand image. Knowing what I know now from my recent experience with G's, I plan to maybe eventually buy an older w463 chassis and strip it down to retrofit it with the clo...

I've seen that one and others listed on Ebay and Hemmings. It looks to me like the specialize in refurbing mil-surp ones with new Italian tires and a paint job. I just know that i'd go test drive it before even considering buying.

Re: 2.7 factory engine

For some reason I was thinking that they actually built some of the later ambulance trucks with a 2.7 stock from the factory, but that it was low numbers because it was so near the end of the gassers production. I'm probably wrong, but for some reason I'm thinking this.

Re: Soft Top installation

It appears that you are missing the rubber cord that runs along the top of the roll-bar, under the front top and that laces down the elephant ears on the sides. If I recall correctly without going out to look at mine, it laces under the front top into the rear top, but then laces over the tops of th...
