Re: New Member Intro

For the uninformed among us, what are LMTV suspension seats? Thanks! Light Medium Tactical Vehicle (LMTV); it is the current replacement vehicle for the old style 2.5 and 5 ton vehicles. It is a cab over design 6x6. Google will have pics for anyone interested. They changed the design specs on the s...

Re: New Member Intro

Just back from our first family trip with the new Pinzgauer. We went camping out in one of our State Forests that has a large OHV area. Lots of mud, sand and trails... The kids loved it and the wife was all smiles also. The vehicle performed as expected... I was impressed, from highway speeds gettin...

Glad no one was hurt. I think it says alot about the vehicle that you were able to just "right it" and drive it away.

What tires (model and size) are you running...

Re: New Member Intro

I've purchased from motorbooks.at in the past and they were great to do business with. They were the only place I found that had the "transparent" Pinz poster. Lots of other interesting books as well. At current exchange rates the 3 Pinz manuals are no less expensive (about $287.00 with s...

Re: New Member Intro

You can order the books for your Pinz directly from (http://www.motorbooks.at) , Search for pinzgauer. Use Google to translate the web site is in German. That is where I ordered my manuals for the 718. Make sure that you get the English printed books the parts manual may be in English and German. T...

Re: New Member Intro

I took the Pinzgauer out today and played in the sand and a few local hills (not very big as it is Florida...) My son loved it and the Pinzie did very well. I am enjoying it quite a bit and am planning to take it on a couple hour drive tomorrow up to St Augustine, FL. This will be my first highway e...

Ed, The TAM has an additional 2.5" on the Pinzgauer's clearance, but that is with the 47" tires on it....

Re: New Member Intro

I don't envy your decision to sell the TAM, I don't think I'd be able to do it! But toys spawn toys, so I understand. Eventually, you run out of room, and room is something your 110 does not give up easily...... Very true.... unfortunately today was the day.... I put the TAM up for sale on Steel So...

Re: New Member Intro

For those asking about the Pinzgauer 712 and TAM 110 BV comparison, here are some pics. I took the TAM out today for a drive... much more of a Truck like experiance, Power steering is nice, but overall the truck has a lot more heft and gearing is a lot lower than on the Pinzie. Here are a few pics. ...

Re: New Member Intro

My 712 came with the owners manual in english. What is the least expensive option for a repair manual? I have always done the Chilton or Clymer manuals on the Jeeps and the TAM came with a full set of manuals up to the actual rebulding of parts.

Is the only choice a new set of $280 books?

Re: New Member Intro

Yes the 718 was one of the Delta Force trucks, live off of HY 33 south of HY 50 about 12 miles. If you want to take a ride some day, your more than welcome to come out. I am retired so at home most of the time. I have 180 A to play on. I host the Florida Steel Solders Rally in Feburary on my proper...

Re: New Member Intro

It is definately BIG.... weird is in the eye of the beholder ;) When you fold the windshield back into position and add the fiberglass hard top, I really does not differ too much from the looks of many of the military trucks out there. She is alot of fun, but belongs out in open spaces, nnot the hig...

Skipper, You are pretty much right in the neighborhood compared to most. What rally is it? I am plan to head out to the Steel Soldiers rally in Richloam rally this February. I would love to take a look at the 718 you have, was it one of the GL US Military trucks? Welcome to the pinz world, We have a...
