Re: Fuel Pressure Questions

IMHO if your running conventional carburetors stick with the mechanical fuel pump. There's nothing wrong with mechanical. With carb's you need low PSI, not sure what the Std. Pinz carb pressure is but it's going to be in the 5psi range, otherwise you will force the float valve open and flood the car...

Re: Oil on the brake shoes - what are the usual suspects?

Sounds like a portal hub leak to me -- seals. Had the same problem on my right front. In addition to the obvious seal, there are inner seals that should be changed as well. This is where I wimp out and get the professionals  Were you located? P.S. If you used synthetic oil in the portal you can...

OK Dave, we can crawl all over Mozo at MogFest.
Something is really odd here, but I am a happy camper :D

Oh, bring my spare rear window with you if it hasn't made it to the dumpster

Re: Motor oil

I use 20W50 Phillips X/C aviation grade, mineral spirits.
Meets MIL-L-22851D spec. and great for air cooled engines.
Stay away from synthetics, as others have pointed out.

Castrol also has an aviation grade, but Coast OIl Co.
hasn't carried that recently.

Re: New inventory of Windshields soon ( in time for Xmas) :)

Well worth the investment to avoid getting a mouth full of glass bits from a blown out windshield. Don't follow any gravel trucks. Looks cool too with tinted glass all around -- it may be my imagination but it sure seems cooler (temperature) in the cab as well :? Dave did my 710K front and rear -- t...

Re: Polymer Composite 24V electric heater

Sports Import LTD also has a 36V electric heater http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/us-made-36-volt-ducted-electric-heater.html Theoretically, if you run that at 24V (resistive element) you will draw 13.3A and output 8,000 BTU. Then you can run that all day long. Although that's like having a 300W show...

Great! I have been waiting for the date to get posted hoping it didn't conflict with
work stuff early Oct. Well frankly I hope Alan brings his busted compass again -- getting
lost was fun :P

Hey, I may even get some tinted glass for the Mozo -- right Dave

Re: Oil leak at oil pan stud

Try re-torquing uniformly across all bolts first. Failing that
I'd go with a RTP silicone gasket maker e.g. Permatex
and skip the "cork" gasket entirely. If you go this route
invest in a RTP "gun" to apply more uniformly.

Re: Stainless Steel "Rear Exit" Mufflers in Production

Does this rear exit muffler also come with the tail pipe and hanger?
I do like the idea of going rear exhaust -- significant noise reduction.

Re: sound deadening ideas

Good stuff Vince, not to mention Redline,I'll give that a try at the next vital fluids change, I've been a Lucas guy which seems to be pretty good on the gear noise front but I'll take every db of noise reduction I can find. Noise deadening is an interesting problem. There's really two major contrib...
