Buy the best Pinz you can afford. The cost of repairs can rise to astronomical levels quickly - even if the parts seem like they should be reasonably priced. Helps to have a fat Swiss Bank Account

Re: 80w90 gear oil okay?
There is plenty of lubricant wisdom to be found in these forums. Redline MT-90 is a GL-4 oil that is NOT aggressive toward the brass synchro rings in the transmission and transfer case. If you run a GL-5 lube in these spaces the reactive sulfur additive builds up on the surface of the rings and then...

Re: rims and tires
Pinz lugnuts are "ball" type, not conical. See the sticky post at the top of this forum by Scott.

Re: Float level adjustment?
Floats can be tested on the stove. Submerge them in a pan of water and heat it slowly. If there is a leak the float will blow bubbles. If they are partially flooded you might hear fuel sloshing inside them when shaken. Brass floats can be repaired by gently heating for several hours to remove the tr...

Re: Float level adjustment?
It seems that adding the (1mm or .5mm) washers would increase the fuel and raise the level, so removing them would result in lowering the float level. Is that how it works? Just the opposite. The float needle valve is mounted in the carb cover. Lowering the valve (increasing washer thickness) lower...

Re: Any experience with RVs?
The CAT 3208 isn't the best of engines. In ag applications many of them would only last a couple thousand hours before needing major work. The block doesn't have liners, so no in-frame rebuilds. Carry a spare water pump! They were available from 210 to 435 HP. No telling what this Bluebird has. 17,5...

Re: Any experience with RVs?
Many Class A Diesel Pushers can be had with 10K tow rating, but the nicer ones cost the same as a small to medium house - even on the used market. My wife's cousin has a 2008 Monaco Beaver that tows 10K with ease (>$450K when new). The Newmar coaches are very nice also. Do your research. Maintenance...

Add a hidden toggle switch to the circuit so the thief doesn't make it to the end of the block.

Re: 24v fuel pump and regulator
I have gone with this electronic roll-over switch: http://www.radshark.com/tipoff-rollover-switch.html . The unit will turn off the fuel pump circuit when tip angle exceeds 60 degrees (I had a custom unit made for a grand total of $55.00 incl. shipping). It resets itself after 4 seconds when the veh...

Some inconsistency here. OP says they are 710M and 710K in first post and then in the next post says they are both diesel. Diesel conversions? I'm confused

Hmmm, maybe a time keeping problem with the server. Posts to topics seem to have the correct time, but I also see the Last visit time discrepancy.

... turn key and leave wheel loose? Any help appreciated. Man-O-War Never heard of a steering wheel lock mechanism on any 710/712 Pinz. I "lock" my 710M using a Master Python cable lock through the steering wheel and down around both pedals. It won't stop the determined thief for long, bu...

I'm experiencing some annoying forum behavior and I'm trying to determine if it is on my end or the server end. I login with the 'Log me on automatically each visit' box checked. Many times after I've read a topic and want to go to to a different topic and I find that I've been logged out. I must lo...
