Hey Mike....I still like your solution, and ultimately may end up going that route. I just still have not resolved the design yet, thinking about the poptop but would still like to have a functional exoskeleton. The aluminum foam sandwich is available pre fabricated in sheets, forget what it's calle...

I've been using CD-2 as well, easy to get and use. I vary the amount based on the condition I will be driving in, generally I use half a dose so I can store two bottles in my road kit and treat 25 -30 tankfulls. On a side note I also use Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer for the gas in my spare tanks, also av...

Looking for some solutions for a hard top for the rear only on a 712M. I would really like to set one up with a structural top, not a piece of sheet metal, It will have to support weight and have a exoskeleton tied into it. I have not had the chance to measure it out yet but the Diamler/Chrysler Spr...

Check out a place that sells horse saddles and see what they recommend. Here's the stuff I've used in the past, it holds up well to the enviroment but has to be regularly maintained: http://www.bee-natural.com/index.html There may be a product that lasts longer, but this stuff is well proven and of ...

Here is two more ideas to mull over. The first link is like the VW Westfalia Camper poptops from 1980- mid 90's the late 90's to now the poptop is even more compact but will be harder to find cheap. The older ones can be found at junkyards for around $200.00 I don't know if you have ever seen the in...

Those that have changed over to ExecII was it because of a mechanical breakdown, or just because you were getting into the Diff for other reasons. Have you noticed a change? To up...

M Wehrman....I've taken some of the rhinoline off of some small parts that came off pretty easy so we'll see how the rest goes. The remodeling is for longevity as I plan on having it till I can't climb up into the cab or afford to fill the tank. Peter....I may take the body off to upgrade to e...

Need some restoration advice
Well its finally time to start the full restoration to the body. I bought my 712M a year & 5 months ago, It looked really nice in white with the interior rhinolined black. Unfortunatly I have noticed some things that led me to belive that there was little prep work done before the purely cosmeti...
