Re: Winch Wiring

Thanks for the quick response Jim. Pretty much corroborates that the 24V Winch and 4AWG is plenty good enough. The spec's for this winch at max. load should be ~0.5V drop for a run length of about 10'. It's just far less bulky than 2AWG or 1/0. As it turns out, the stock Pinz power lead from the Bat...

Re: Oil pressure switch ?

I use the VDO Oil pressure gauge with a two terminal sender; analog pressure (10 to 180 ohms), and the Idiot contact. You can get these senders with Metric M10 or M14 or NPT. Also a choice in the low pressure trip level -- pretty cool. Here's a link ala eGuages https://www.egauges.com/ProductDetails...

Winch Wiring

Finally decided to get a proper Winch-guard fabricated -- Fatfab of course :DD My current Brushguard just can't be adapted without a lot of messy reworking. Selected the 24V Superwinch 9.5i with Synthetic rope. Being a bit of a paranoid I will be installing a high quality water prof Cut-off switch o...

Re: Oil pressure switch ?

IMHO, add a Oil pressure sender and a Oil Temp sender -- esp. Temp.
Pressure senders typically have the idiot contact -- LOW pressure and
an analog output for actual pressure. Well worth the addition for
piece of mind.

Re: Opinion on SK tools?

And, once you get a pile of tools together, then you need a place to put them. Found this canvas Bag on Amazon, which has several compartments. I have two and both are chuck full. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TQR9EIW/ref=twister_B018MUXXNK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Then I got these small pouches for ...

Re: Opinion on SK tools?

I bought my first SK 3/8" ratchet set when gas was $0.35 a gallon :D I still have that set. The question would be has quality stayed where it was over the years -- dono. For my truck, rather than spend a ton, I went the Harbor Freight route. Set of Metric and SAE 3/8" and 1/2". Decent...

Re: Oil additive to reduce gear friction - thoughts

Your bringing up a good point -- there are some good Additive products on the market. And Liqui Moly is a very good example of a company that you can actually get some key facts on. First, this is not a small time operator, their annual revenue is nearing Half a Billion U.S.D. that is a pretty large...

Re: Oil additive to reduce gear friction - thoughts

Boron Nano-lubricants do show a lot of promise. Several technical papers with lab results. Best work done by Argonne Lab by Ali Erdemir who pretty much was the sole guy behind the discovery. That work was sponsored in part by Valvoline and Cummins. I don't question the science but I question the sou...

Re: Oil additive to reduce gear friction - thoughts

Your primary protection is the quality of the Gear and Engine Oil you pour into your cases. Additives are secondary at best and most have no value add. Engine oil should have the proper level of ZDDP. Off the shelf Oil today DOES NOT. The Z in ZDDP is Zinc and provides bond to high wear surfaces act...

Re: Ignition Issue

Thought you were talking about Breaker #10 "That was it. #10 was wired wrong so the ignition was constantly on. " #11 is even more of a mystery. I have schematics for most of the Pinz models and don't see a clear match to what you have. That said you have Yellow crimp lugs which are not st...

Re: Ignition Issue

On second look I now see a back/yellow wire in addition to the 2 greens.
This is in reference to CKT BKR #10 -- as per the original posted. That
line is to the horn.

Re: Ignition Issue

I'd have to look up other schematics I happen to have for different Truck models to know for sure.
But there may only be 2 Geen's off that terminal and the 3'rd you have may be a owner modification.
Might want to trace that to it's end point.
