Re: Damn rust! Preventive maintenance fail!

This Eastwood product looks pretty good - check out the video: http://www.eastwood.com/internal-frame-coating-w-spray-nozzle.html?reltype=2&parent_id=25961 Here's another video that pretty must has me sold on the Eastwood treatment regime for more accessible areas. http://www.eastwood.com/ew-rus...

Wheel Balancing Beads

I just noticed a bunch of ads on EBay for wheel balancing beads. Never heard of them or noticed them before. Did a search on this forum - no luck.

Does anyone know anything about them?

What's the scoop? Curious minds want to know. :?

Re: What does THIS decal mean?

I think I just bought one of these from you on EBay - $5.95 free shippping. I hope that was you (Texas-based, but different handle). Either way, the other guys on this thread might like to know, especially it that's you. Pays to advertise, you know. :D

Re: Slow Warm Engine Cranking/Start

I've been off-line for several days, but just pulled the following link from another thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63JgH5XoCMc On a good day, my pinz cranks at about half that speed. Batteries continue to check out OK, chargers works great, I've double-checked wiring and the heavier guage i...

Re: Slow Warm Engine Cranking/Start

Hi Pete Thanks for the comments. Re cranking speed, that is why I changed cables and starter (see first post in this thread). I have not replaced the ground strap for the ground switch or solenoid. Could that possibly be an issue? I keep going back to the batteries, but every time I get them load-te...

Re: Slow Warm Engine Cranking/Start

Hi Ed Thanks for the comments - you may be on to something. I had thought of possible rich fuel mixture (requiring full throttle on warm start-up) - "hold the gas pedal to the floor while cranking to clear excess fuel from the engine, when it finally fires up it will likely start first on one o...

Re: Slow Warm Engine Cranking/Start

Thanks for the comments.

At this point, I'm not suspecting the batteries. I have had them load tested two or three times in the past year at different places, and they have tested above spec.

Re: The TD's at SAV.

Thanks for the info GenevaPinz

Not that I'll ever own one - I'll bet they're a bit pricey.

But anything Pinz has my attention - I'll do some research just for info's sake. :)

Slow Warm Engine Cranking/Start

I think I have reviewed all the old posts on this subject and I am still baffled. So far, I have: 1. Checked batteries (often) – Ret Tops - show good cranking power, 2. Installed rebuilt starter 3. Installed EI civilian ignition conversion (engine runs much better, smoother, more lugging power, less...

Re: What does THIS decal mean?

Very cool - add me to your list of "Wanters." By the way, what's with the other labels? I don't have a "Max. Geschwind" or a "Gruppenschaltung." And where are these decals located? While we're talking decals, what's with the one I do have? Should I be worrying about usi...

Re: Intro and Questions.

Driving works. I bought my Pinz in Jackson Hole - took a one-way bus ride from Phoenix, spent most of the day looking for new tires (unsuccessful) and then drove overnight with bad tires and all to Durango, CO. Total ride was about 650 miles. With the badly dished tires, normal Pinz noise and canvas...

Re: The TD's at SAV.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a "TD"? It sort of looks like the newer version of the Pinz. If so, can they now be legally driven in the U.S.? I thought only the old ones could be brought in due to emissions and safety rules, which are waived in the case of antique vehicles. Just curious.

P.S.

I'm looking for a right rear "bumper" (see photo in prior post) and a right rear brake line (the short one that hugs the axle); if anyone has use parts that will work, please let me know. Jorgo speculated about the "pucker factor" and my status on the mountain. Actually there was...
