I came up with this design last summer. It has three positions (Normal Tow, Hi Tow and Hi Stow), which are determined by the height of the trailer hitch or terrain conditions. So far, it has worked out fine for me, but I don't do extreme off-roading - just stick to normal Colorado 4-wheel roads.
