Re: Parts availability in the US

Is it a North American Bugeye and if so, Canadian or US spec?

Re: tgb Fuel Pressue

Rick, The original Pierburg PE 15695 fuel pump is supposed to produce 2.1-4.0 psi between 1000-6000rpm. I have never seen a true fuel pressure regulator on a Volvo using the standard mechanical fuel pump. All the original fuel filter assemblies I have seen mounted to the front left corner of the eng...

Re: TGB 1314 Ambulance box lift height

Uli,
Thank you for your response and the photo. Those blue lifting fixtures appear quite stout and stable. Well done!
The information is greatly appreciated.

Take care.

TGB 1314 Ambulance box lift height

Does anyone know just high (in centimeters or inches) that a TGB 1314 ambulance box must be raised vertically to allow the 6x6 chassis to be driven out from under the box? After a ten year absence, I have reacquired an ambulance I had converted to diesel (OM617A). The previous owner had removed and ...

Re: Driver's side "safari"windhield body seal

One2Many, When I purchased the product from Steele, I chose to order enough to complete two applications. While four cleanly mitered corners sealed with Loctite Super Bonder 495 https://www.steelerubber.com/super-bonder-3-gr-96-0495-96 would the the deal way to go, I decided to try an experiment. Ou...

Re: c 306 power take off seal

Justin Case, I typed both "Volvo 948635" and "Volvo 944050" into Google and found both seals available from several different sources. I did no further exploration but would not be surprised of one or more sources provide the metric dimensions as well. Hope this helps. Jim Molloy...

Driver's side "safari"windhield body seal

Hello to all. The original part numbers for the original seal between the left windshield frame opening on the front body section and the top-hinged window frame are: 1565430-4 or 1566368-5. The original seal on our 1975 AluZn TGB11 had dried out and shrunk with time. In the rainy Pacific Northwest,...

Re: Part II - Restoration and Exploration - Aaron's TGB 1111

Aaron, The factory Swedish Army tool set in the Portland area is actually on our farm in Sheridan. It is missing only one small pice of a magnetic arm that holds the dial indicator in place. The other set in Renton, WA is completely intact. I plan to have the one missing piece from our set fabricate...

Re: Part II - Restoration and Exploration - Aaron's TGB 1111

Aaron, It is nice to see yet another Volvo TGB truck in the Pacific Northwest. You have done an amazing job refurbishing your late model Elva Elva. MJ owns my original red TGB11 fire truck. There is an earlier TGB1111 that has recently been relocated from Portland to Olympia. I was amazed to Mark Ha...

Re: Additional support for OEM canvas?

I know of several different front hoop (just behind front seats) profiles depending on the model. Round, oval and rectangular cross-sections are all possible. The overall general shape are the same but the there are definite differences in the exact outer dimensions. I would like to be more precise ...

Re: Additional support for OEM canvas?

We had a couple dozen rear hoops made up three years ago using an original Haflinger bow as a template. Wall thickness is slightly thicker than original. I have see some made using conduit and they do work but seem to sag in the middle of the top arch with time. Not sure how many we still have left....

Re: Front brake problems.

Cavetroll,
Where are you located?
With the brake drum off, if you move the brake shoe ratcheting cam adjusters on the inner surface of the backing plate, do you see any movement of the shoes in or out?

Re: Front axle not engaged?

In the parts manual, go to section 46 for Bakaxel/Rear Axle and then search pages 328 and 329. The solenoid is listed there. I suspect Claes will be able to help you from there.

Take care.

Original tool roll and tool kit

Hello to all, In preparation for an article I will be writing for a national truck magazine, I am looking for information on the original tool roll/kit supplied with the TGB11 trucks. The truck I have at present is a 1975 TGB11 AluZn truck. it did come with a variety of original "goodies" ...

Re: 6x6 volvo

Mark, Can you provide more information in your custom radiator? Specifics as to modifications, manufacturer, costs would be most helpful. I am working on a 1975 AluZn truck that seems to want to run on the hotter side even when using a new lowest temp thermostat. System has been thoroughly flushed a...
