To add to David's comment, I guess the Swiss Army brass could not conceive, back in the late 60's, that a light vehicle could use anything other than gasoline... The vehicles replaced or supplemented by the Pinz in the Swiss Army all used gasoline (M38 Jeeps, Dodge WCs, Unimogs S404, etc...), and ev...

This is not my truck but I used this set of pictures from Scott's website to get an idea of how green and black would look before ordering from Ray...: http://www.expedition-imports.com/category/vehicle_inventory.category_name.custom_710_special___5_door_softtop/ I like it... (you would have guessed...

Peresh, I bought a black top for my 710M from Ray last year, and I have the same feedback as dr4yrk9: the top is very well fabricated, a definite improvement over stock (in looks and performance) and there are a few details that make it a tad easier to use than the stock one (adjustable straps to ke...

Kevin,

SAV has them for USD 25.-- a piece (part no. SAV6971). Might be more convenient than having them made to order.

Every time a Swiss Army unit is assembled for a training period (2-3 weeks every year, a few months for "recruit school" i.e. initial boot camp), the soldiers/drivers assigned with a vehicle go collect it in one of the vehicle depots. One of their first task upon collection of their ride f...

Nice to see this kind of enthusiasm about sporting the swiss flag on your trucks :D As a side note, and sorry if this comes as a disappointment, "Suisse Armée" is not proper french... the correct way to put it in french is with the 2 words inverted (i.e. "Armée Suisse"). If you c...

Reading the short story that comes along the picture, I'm just surprised that the driver actually stopped his Pinz when someone shouted "stop the bus"...
Even painted yellow   it's nowhere near resembling a bus

Here is another video where you can watch the engine start (at around 1:00 on the following video):

...it doesn't look like the appropriate cure to the tendency of some Pinzes to smoke when starting :D

Hi all, I am reading through this post with great interest because I am a few days from switching my stock wheels and Maloya tires for Ford Transit rims ( http://real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerBBS/viewtopic.php?t=2554&highlight=ford+transit ) and tubeless radial tires. The stock Ford lug nuts for th...

Upgrading the rear seats is something I will have to do at some point, and I had googled for Cordura fabric. I am not entirely sure it is suitable for our Pinzes' seats... but I know it is very resistant and abrasion-resistant on luggage (the heavier kinds anyway), as well as being water-resistant (...

Funny that one of these cards ended up in Wichita, Kansas... Parking in Swiss cities sucks (especially in Geneva  ), as the authorities try to convince people to use public transportation by making it a living hell to drive and park a private car... Having you "declare" your arrival ...

1972 Swiss Army 710M with rust issues (mainly the floor of the rear cargo area), mostly cured now.

Karl, do you want to add a poll to your thread?

Security on soft-top vehicles is always a problem. Years ago a friend of mine had some stuff nicked out of his Suzuki Sierra (4WD soft-top) Whilst they could have just undone the tie down cords, they instead slashed the rear canvas and just reached in! I don't know if it is a good thing, but lowlif...
