The european TD's are often trashed, bit of a project vehicle.
I have not seen one of the other Vampires up for sale for ages, but there is a radio body 101 and a prototype ambulance here http://milweb.net/classifieds.php?type=14

I'm only looking at the vehicles that can be really bought for reasonable money. Take your vampire, even if someone wanted one then they come on the market very rarely. TD Pinzgauers are fetching £30,000 upwards so the expensive £8,000-£10,00 Petrol pinz starts to look cheap. Landrovers and volvos a...

I kept the choice down here to what psychoman seems to be considering, I voted for the Pinz although my own truck is a hard top and suits MY needs better. I did wonder if we had missed anything but TD Pinzgauers are far too expensive and things like the Bucher Duro and Mog are even bigger than the 1...

Reverse light
Yes that's exactly how I wired mine too! I am thinking of getting a magnetic area work lamp that I can plug in the external power socket (710k) and use when I am backing up off road in the pitch dark or want extra light i any direction! Before this the solution was my son with a torch standing behin...

Those figures make some reading! I grew up near an army barracks and was used to seeing Landrover 101s all the time, even remember them out with L plates on and troops taking driving lessons. I had never seen a Pinzgauer and even now I see more 101s on the road in the UK. The worldwide picture is th...

Iceland next month! The Pinz is worth the money if you can afford it. A really high quality truck and no depreciation on these type of vehicles! :D If you are into really rough off road / narrow tracks the pinz is great. Not such a good trials vehicle though as the diff locks don't disengage instant...

I was like you, liked all these boxy forward control trucks (still do) I have never had a good look at the volvo so couldn't really comment but they are easy to maintain and capable. Landrover you know, they have a good fan base here in UK so parts and advise are easy to come by. The 101 is much big...

tough as...
This sort of thing is not deliberate damage, just the sort of thing we do for fun now... My friend frequently cruises his with the max rpm light on and its been to timbuktu and back. I actually flew my truck by mistake last year, hit a humpback bridge on a long straight stretch of road faster than I...
