Re: Canvas top repair

Thanks 4x4, I cut out all the old windows and glued in some new widows, using your picture frame technique and the the HH66.- the new material seems a little thinner than the original, but much clearer. I now have some 45 year old plastic window shards for sale . Lots of sizes and shapes available L...

Re: split axle boots

Thanks rmel, Interesting diagram, I got the boots on with a little help form a heat gun to soften up the boots. I followed your diagram, and I understand the idea of the screws being at 3 o'clock, so the axle doesn't bind on them, but i'm wondering why they face forward on one side and backward on t...

Re: Canvas top repair

Thanks much,

I ordered up some of the HH66, and i'll give her a go- the testimonials on the website certainly look promising. I have a window that is cracked as well. I may try and cut the threads and ty and glue in a new one as well.

Re: Pinzgauer shock rebound vs compression

I feel a little more at ease about my shocks- I found this chart in the repair manual. I think it means that the shocks do indeed have much more force required to rebound or extend versus to contract. It makes me wonder about all those replacement shocks breaking bolts.

Re: Really Struggling With Split Boots

Going through this same process with the rear axles- I found if i weighed down the back (compressing the springs- so she squatted a little - the axle would be closer to level entering the differential that the boot would not need to stretch as much to fit over the flange. May help the next guy!?!

split axle boots

I'm in the midst of replacing two of my axle boots with the split boot kits ( from SAV), and running into some troubles. I got the larger end of the boot attached and hose clamped in, but the smaller end is fighting me. The original hose clamp is just not quite long enough to reach- I'm not sure if ...

Canvas top repair

I have a 710M with a seam in the rear cover that is just starting to come loose. I was hoping to repair it with some type of glue. Anyone know what exactly the original tarps (1973 in my case) are actually made of - so I can try and find the appropriate adhesive for repair . Thinking of making my ow...

Pinzgauer shock rebound vs compression

Long time Lurker first time poster- What a resource!!!! I'm a long time Pinz owner -1974 710M. Drove her stock (except for black spray paint on the bumpers and new batteries )for about 5 years and then she sat for 10+ years. I decided to get her running to sell, but after I started resurrecting her ...
