Re: A link to my Haflinger restoration

Rob, You have a very nice looking truck. If you are content with it remaining an off-road vehicle only, you might as well stick with what you have. By comparison, the most complete Polycab for sale on eBay is this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/steyr-puch-haflinger-/120817357549?pt=Automobile&hash...

Re: A link to my Haflinger restoration

Rob, Hard cab/polycab Haflingers are far more rare than the soft top versions. Average price for a Haflinger is going to be as much as $2-4K higher than the typical Japanese Kei truck. The Japanese minitrucks certainly have more creature comforts and a higher road speed. The engine displacement and ...

Northwest MogFest 2011 update

Hello to all. The twelfth rendition of Northwest MogFest officially starts six weeks from today. From all early indications, it should once again be a time filled with lots of socializing with interesting people driving interesting vehicles. As usual, there should be plenty of Unimogs, Pinzgauers, H...

Re: Engine died while hot....

OhioPinz, During our Haflingertreffen at Lake Shasta in 2010, a couple of the trucks required installation of low pressure (2-3psi) fuel pumps to remain operational. The combination of altitude, higher temps, ethanol mixed in the fuel and poorly functional mechanical pumps can all conspire to stop y...

Re: Haflinger 700 AP brochure

Any idea what year it was printed? All the trucks appear to have Series I features and later brochures commonly would show the polycab variant as well.
Take care.

2011 Haflingertreffen Nordamerika in the Redwoods update

Hello to all, In just three short weeks, we will be at the start of the Haflingertreffen Nordamerika Jedediah Smith Redwoods gathering. As with last year's event, it one is very loosely organized but it is helpful to get some idea as to the overall numbers of who might be attending. For more informa...

Re: Haflinger Pertronix Pre-Orders

Mark,
I was able to install one of the units in our 1964 polycab. Printed instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The truck starts easily, idles smoothly and has nice power. This is a very worthwhile addition.

Take care.

Re: Haflinger road test August 1963 Four Wheeler magazine

Jim, Thanks for the link. I will give the owner of the vintage magazines a try. Greg, I appreciate your search efforts. The Wikipedia description certainly does detail the history as well as the Haflinger's multi-purpose capabilities. The references to the trucks in the USA are particularly welcome....

Haflinger road test August 1963 Four Wheeler magazine

Hello to all, I will get right to the point. This is a plea for assistance. I am trying to locate a copy of the August 1963 issue of Four Wheeler magazine. In said issue is a road test of the 1963 Haflinger. This would be the earlest "in print" documentation of the Haflinger's presence in ...
